I dunno. Warhammer has so much potential and they are tinkering with it. If it were bigger--more zones and stuff, which will come with development, I think I'd like it the most. Also, I've played WoW, LOTRO and FFXI--Finaly Fantasy for the longest btw. But I'm gonna end up being a casual player--always my problem recently so I've b een playing console games instead, right now, Oblivion. Before that, I was playing FF Tactics on my DS. Any thoughts?

Ragnarok Online or that Atlantica thing the guy was spamming about; they're F2P so no cash lost for casual players.

Come back to FFXI and play on Bismarck Smiley: smile

Seriously, since the advent of level sync and the other things they've added I've been able to get THF from the early 40's to nearly 60 in a month or so, and I'm the definition of a casual player.

Ragnarok is only free if you get a free server. Also I didnt care to much for it, im not a big fan of clicky games.

Why not stick with FFXI, with the edition of Fields of Valor, and with them in SKY after the next update, and dancer as a subjob, soloing is extremely easy now.

If your looking for something new though, I keep hearing things about EVE.

If you've got an old character in WoW that's level 55 or more, you can make a Death Knight for some fun new content. Plus, DKs start at level 55 which reduces grinding quite a bit. Outland goes a lot faster now, and the quests in Northrend are pretty fun. Once (if) you hit 80, all of the current raids are PuGgable, so it's pretty easy to fit one into most any schedule here and there.

Probably a bad idea to play EVE if you're gonna be casual. It's an amazing game, but I definitely don't think it's very casual-friendly. Although, I hear they've implemented some benefits for new players recently, so maybe things have changed.

I play EVE casually, seems to work for me. Put in an hour or two here and there, sometimes just log in to change what skill I'm working on. In that hour or two I can usually get a mission or two done in my Battlecruiser.

Anna, play EVE. The learning curve is really a learning run into a brick wall, but it's fun.

Everquest II? Just a thought, for content, there's plenty to do, it's quite suited for a casual player (most non-raid guilds have no problem whatsoever with casual players, being part of one is pretty much necessary though, helps to have crafters you know), it's fairly similar to WoW (although not going to start a comparison war in this thread).

I'm not really sure. From what I've played in EvE, there's not much in the way of Uniqueness, and it feels kinda sterile, only having your ship, and a picture of your pilot representing you.

Also, the learning curve is like running into a brick wall with a couple spikes jutting out of it, srsly.

I find myself in the same boat as Anna lately though. I'd like to play an MMO again, but I'm not going to have the time with school to devote to anything extremely time consuming like raiding...
(warning, rambling nonsense ahead)
WAR's pvp is nice, but the leveling pace is slow. WoW has all but dragged me along like a corpse attached to a car on a freeway... FFXI was fun for the few weeks that I played it again, but spending hours farming bees so that I could afford my character's next set of gear to level up in wasn't very appealing to me. LotRO is cool, but very very slow. EQ2 seems the same way as LOTRO... but with Frogloks!

You guys/gals should try LoTRO again after Tuesdays book 7 update, They're adjusting the leveling curve some (and dropping something like 50k xp off the total needed) Completely revamped the beginner zones to make the quests flow together better, added some nice jeweler rewards, and added some more xp to the rewards so the beginning/middle doesn't crawl as bad. Haven't tried it myself but have heard some decent remarks on the reworked system.

I've been thinking of going EQ2, I'm getting seriously burned out on wow. If you don't raid, there just isn't much to do. Achievements get boring fast. EQ2 seems to have a lot of lore, and be quest heavy (which I like). The question is, can it be solo'd now? One reason I prefer solo (excpet for instances) is so I can read the quest text and learn the lore. Most parties fly by content so fast, you miss everything. Hell some world of warcraft instances went by so fast I hardly had time to look at the dungeon graphics.

I think EQ2 is fairly soloable, you should try the trial, then if you like it you can pick up the latest expansion and get everything with it.

I think the majority of quest text has voiceovers too, even has some people like Christopher Lee, I think he does the one god.

Christopher Lee does the voice of Lucan D'Lere, the evil overlord of Freeport. He gives a speech when you stand near his statues in Freeport.

EQII can be soloed all the way to 80. I did so easily with my Froglok monk. Ofcourse, you are not going to see all the content at the appropriate level without grouping from time to time, but there's not all that much absolute need to do so. There's a huge amount of solo quests but also a good amount of group quests, a bit for both sides.

Some of the older quests are quite frustrating though, it's a shame that those also include a lot of 'book' quests, you need to complete books by finding pages on mobs and locations. Lots of good books to be found that way, but at times it was extremely frustrating, having to hunt an elusive mob and needing to get him 30 times for instance. But they never did that again with later quests.

Computer requirements are a bit harder than for WoW though, not easy to play it at full settings.

The original EQ is very soloable these days with the addition of mercenaries. I'm thinking I should never have left EQ. I feel like Dorothy searching for an mmo that was right in my computer all along.

But...I'm gonna give Warhammer a chance, and maybe even LoTRO another chance (to see if they've managed to 'fix' PvMP with bk.7).

My other game I've been playing is World in Conflict. It's been a decent war-themed rts.

You know the 1cr0n and Garuda players wouldn't leave...

I remember back when the AoK was together, we talked about moving to a single server and starting a linkshell, but it never happened. I remember we were all talking about meeting up in Vegas ind in the end, only Sheebs, Alien and Angsty actually went.

OP, you should try this new MMO called Mortal Online. The beta sign up have just started.

Check this ingame video to see how it look like. It´s FPV, no instances, full loot, 10 hit boxes (you can aim on head or arm etc ...), seamless loading "zones", etc ....

I really like how it look in that dark sewer dark ... having to use a torch. And his face is reflected on the water surface.

The pre beta ingame movie (the animation is about the be fixed, but its not even beta):

http://www.mortalonline.com

Here is the HD version (I recomend this movie to see the details)
http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4782281

Check this interview (swedish)... but 5:25min into the movie you can see a pre alpha combat with a minotaur:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBflAPdVwZQ

I personally think the design of this game reminds me of original design of Everquest but with much better graphic.
