I loathe heavy flash websites: esoteric navigation, waiting for pages to load or complete their fancy transition animation, annoying layouts.

I'm still struggling to grasp the new combat system from the trailers. I wish we were allowed to see more than just FMVs.

Hmmm

From what I saw of the earlier trailers I thought the combat system was going to be similar to the earlier Final Fantasies, Turn based with the Active Time Battles, etc. But mix in the reaction commands similar to Kingdom Hearts 2, where pressing a button or maybe a specific command during battle would do a special move, all cinematic, etc.

And is it just me or does something about Oerba Dia Vanille just look off?

It is looking pretty good from what tehy are showing. I'm just glad they are not using that awful combat system from FF12. That was the first FF game I haven't been able to play through in a long time.

From the screenshots it looks like it will be a tad more Fantasy then FF12 was as well. I really hope this game turns out well.

You should just put "I ******* hated FF12" in your sig so we don't have to hear it in every post you make on the subject of Final Fantasy Smiley: smile

The last one was so awful that it's the only Final Fantasy game that I haven't completed. I just couldn't take it. The gameplay was boring, the characters uninteresting, not to mention the farming. The only thing about the game that had any redeeming quality at all was the fact that it's the best looking Final Fantasy game to date. But eye candy will only take you so far before you start to get hungry for something a little more meaty. I was so badly disappointed by XII, that I'm really not particularly interested in XIII at all.

Think of FFXII as Windows Vista.

And FFXIII is Windows 7. What FFXII should have been.

I'm not liking the look of the battle system...Why can't they just leave perfection alone?

I miss real turn based rpgs...

Kinda reminds me of vats

pick four actions and watch it resolve; rinse and repeat

My mother got to level 99 and put in about 300 hours into 12. I think she hated it by the end; it's the only time I've heard her curse at a game.
