hey all, I got a quick question, I was thinking about buying LOTR as a new mmo, I just wanted to know, how is it? I play ffxi, so is it anything like that? game play wise I mean. And how is the story? graphics? and controls scheme? and most importantly is there a large player base? I dont expect it to be as big as WoW but you know there isnt a point in buying it if noone plays it, know what i mean.hit me back and let me know, posting on this thread is fine but a PM would be better if you can.

We often get asked this question and the answer is pretty much always the same;

The game is growing all the time, server population is good across most all the servers (there are a couple more busy than the rest and a couple quieter than the rest) No, it isn't as "big" as WoW but would you want it to be? The number of jerk-weeds increases in direct proportion to the popularity of the game so the larger the player base, the greater the frequency of dealing with pin-heads!

The story follows the books by Tolkien (more so than the movies) so if you know the plot, you'll know what to expect.

The graphics are amazing (assuming you have enough horse power to see the world at hi rez) shadow detail, water reflections, all the visual bells and whistles are first rate.

The game was designed for PC (as opposed to being ported there like FFXI) so it takes full advantage of the complexity and flexibility offered by modern PCs.

PMs are counter productive because they are never seen by the rest of the community so ten of us could answer the same question but no other potential new viewers would see those responses.
