The new power up to be included with the MGS4 Level Kit is: The Paintinator.

The Paintinator is a power-up, just like the jetpack, which means you’ll be able to include this power up in your levels when you publish them, just like the jetpack. Infact, you can earn trophies from using the power up. Like the Bronze trophy: ‘Paint Sharer’ Publish a level containing METAL GEAR SOLID Paintinator Powerup. The Paintinator is a paintball gun and is capable of firing, rather obviously, paintballs. With no pics available and no video, we can only guess as to how exactly this paintball gun will work. How will it be controlled? How can you aim at other sackboys and girls?

The Paintinator marks a new era for LittleBigPlanet - It is the first official in-game weapon that a sack person can yield. This can completely change the way in which the game works and how you build your levels. This is a momentous occasion in the history of the LittleBigPlanet.

Hooray! A handheld weapon for sackpeople!

No one else here cares about this, I know, but it's just awesome. They've been releasing costumes at the rate of 3/4 a week, usually one free, the rest paid. They've been tweaking the poppit menu and the create engine, and there's a wishlist on the official forums that the devs are actually responding to. The longer this game is out, the better it gets.

I do wish that they would start passing out actual level packs. They're calling this the MGS4 level pack, but there are no levels in it at all. There's supposedly just some MGS4 costumes, stickers, objects, and new materials I believe. Basically just the things for players to create MGS4 themed levels.

In reality, I'd trade in all the DLC so far, and this new level pack, if they would just fix the damn search engine.

Turns out, the MGS4 pack will actually have MM created levels! SWEET!

Also, if you aren't convinced to buy this game yet, take a look at the newest patch notes from Media Molecule.

Didn't the commercials feature a Gladiator with a sword and even a Kratos sackman? I guess they don't count.

The sword is just a decoration, you can't use it as a weapon. I don't know what a Kratos sackman has to do with weapons, but yes, there is a Kratos costume, among others.

The Paintinator is the first weapon that you can hold, aim, and fire. There are some user created weapons, but as it is now, Sackboy doesn't have any muscles in his arm, and can only hold something, and swing it around with momentum caused by movement. Usually when players put something like that in their levels, they do the scene with a jetpack so you can really get some good twirly swing on the weapon.

I played one level, I forget the name, not like it would help you look for it. In the level, there was a battle with some space ships that fired lazers all over the place, you couldn't dodge them at all, you had to pick up a really cool looking force field, and flip it around in the air to deflect some of the shots so you could get through. It was really well done.

How long before LBP installs PvP functions?
#6 Dec 19 2008 at 7:32 PM Rating: Good
They will probably add some kind of PvP after the paintinator hits the game. The only PvP they have right now is in the form of point competitions in minicams like levels.

Question about the MGS4 thing; do they give you a little sack Metal Gear to fight against?

Sounds like some of the new objects are stuff like that. A Mini Metal gear, he's apparently a boss of one of the levels, according to the new trophies. There are probably a crap ton of other stuff like mounted turrets, cameras, guards and other MGS4 randomness.
