I like how there's the Donkey Kong reference in Magus' castle.
I have this game already, off e-bay a few years ago for the SNES where I also got that from. It wasn't until summer this year that I started playing it. Wasn't the first time that I played it but it is for actually finishing it
at least one of the endings. Kingdom of Zeal blew me away, I totally wasn't expecting anything like it. There's no other game this old that still manage to impress me as much. The soundtracks of this game I would give an
eleven out of ten stars.
Just a small nitpick, Chrono Trigger with an h is the title of the game and the character's name is Crono without the h. It looks as it is because the game only lets you input 5 letters but that's not the case. Chrono trigger is some complicated item involved in restoring Crono from a situation I can't be bothered to describe in words.
From IGN's review of the DS port of this game, the reviewer's opinion is that the re-translations are better. Now I don't know if I agree, I at least don't agree with the change of 'dark wizard' to 'fiendlord' nor 'mystics' to 'fiends'. The magic is felt more from the original translations to me.
Anyway, I don't see myself getting the DS port of this game. I'll still be playing my SNES version to try getting into different scenarios to end in different endings to see. I ought to try New Game+ to zerg through that I haven't tried yet. I'm perfectly fine without the pretty cartoon cutscenes that the DS version offers, and the "Pokemon" feature I can care less about that is 'local wireless only' anyway.
