Am I the only one who REALLY liked the old dashboard? I mean, I know the new features and all - those are great, but did we really have to sacrifice what made the XB360 stand out just a little? I never liked the idea of Mii's, I like gamer pictures. It was lame that we had to buy them, but we had alot of choices. The backrounds I have are just useless now. I can only really see one. I don't need my money back, I'd like my points though.

All in all, biggest waste of resources I have seen on this sytem, outisde of the new features such as installing and netflix.

I think we may be seeing a patch to do something about the background issues. I never purchased a theme pack, but I did have a few backgrounds, and the new dashboard has grey mirror "table" that covers half the screen making backgrounds worthless.

Other than that, I don't think anything about it is bad. It took me a while to find out where everything is, but I must say that it's much easier to browse downloadable games and read their descriptions. I can actually scroll through the description now, where as before I had to sit and wait for it to start scrolling on it's own.

What it really Felt to me was "Okay, we have these idea we really want to use, it'll be great, our customers will love them!", "great, make sure to implement Mii's and cute little pictures, you know, because our demographic is very mature and sh*t."

Alot of it is GREAT stuff, I always customized my themes based on what game I was playing, in fact I turned on my 360 that day to see if there was a psychonaut's theme (fifth or sixth time I've beat it, haven't played it in awhile) and then I got the update.

I know I'll get used to it, but I really don't see even the smallest point in ripping of the Wii. Esp. since no matter what I tried to make him look like he always looked like an A&F kid. That or someone who is expected to say "Gee wilickers!" or "Golly!".

Well, it's pretty apparent that with the Avatars and the promotion of Community games on the new system, that they are trying to create a family gaming portion on Xbox Live.

The portion of Live for the existing mature players who like to Multiplay their favorite XBox games still exists. They've just tried to expand their market to get the family involved with the "E for Everyone" games (Like the Kingdom for Kefflings and all the multiplayer card and board games).

Maybe it's too late, and they can't get the type of exposure to that crowd, but it's by no means a bad thing for them to try and grab that crowd.

I liked the simplicity of the old dashboard, you could pick it up and know exactly where everything was, because it was so simple. I think the update has some really cool features, and the avatars are kinda fun for a little bit. The addition of Netflicks and being able to stream movies is an awesome addition.

I did have my xbox freeze up on me and had to force shut down two times though, something I have never had to do on the dashboard before.

Trust me I am not one of these "GAMES ARE SRS BSNS AND MY NAME IS MLG GANGSTA SICKSNIPA" I just don't like the avatars. I wish we could skip them, I wish I could have an avatar of Raz, that'd be rad.

Ah well, just gonna have to live with it I guess.

I'm sure they'll be adding avatar "gear" based on your achievements. That's the next logical step. They have the Achievements and Gamerscore, might as well tie those into your avatar.

I like the way it shows icons of all your games on the list and how you can see all your stuff just stacked behind itself in a nice neat row.

Far as the Mii's are concerned mehh I could do without that. The netflix thing is great though, I might actually have to buy Xbox live gold now.

Meh, I don't play XBox games online, and most likely never will. So I'm fine with the new center menu thingy.

Wait, how is thingy not coming up as misspelled in Firefox?!?!

I used to have a cute little panda as my gamerpicture; now I had some douchebag.

Everything else is cool though.

Im enjoying the look of the new dashboard personally. I also jumped onto the netflix bandwagon thanks to all of this. Watching "The Adventures of Baron Von Munchausen" and "Big Trouble in Little China" streaming into my 360 is just hot.

...still wish it had a web browser

Now's the time to buy up all the RPGs you can for the 360, it seems that a lot are down to 20-30 bucks for the holiday season. :)

I've gotten used to the NXE. It's really well done, and after a couple weeks you forget all about the old dashboard.

interestingly enough, the guide button is basically the old dashboard; it's tabbed the same way with most of the same features linked from it

honestly the only thing that I miss was that panda

I think I have almost all of them. The only ones I can think of right now are infinite undiscovery and last remnant. I wonder if I could swing those for Christmas.

Infinite Undiscovery was 19.99 last week, and I thought about buying it. Went online yesterday and it was back up to 38 dollars. Looks like the Last Remnant is back up to over 50 dollars (I believe it was as low as 25 dollars last week).

It seems all the sales are slowly disappearing.

I saw two lesser known (to me at least) games: Echanted Arms and Spectral Force 3. For 20 bucks each I couldn't pass them up. Even if they aren't the greatest games in the world, I'm sure they are worth at least 20 bucks.

Not like I need any more to play. I still have eternal sonata and tales of symphonia 2 to finish, and also apollo justice.

Might replay lost odyssey and get the optional boss achievements while I'm at it
