The NDA has been lifted on the Moria expansion. I've been participating in it since Mid July and would be glad to answer any questions.

No. Dwarves have been replaced with goat riding dark elves.

I also suggest every minstrel read this:

Sadly, it's the truth. Lore-masters also suffer but not nearly as bad as my minstrel friends will be. *Hope for change* ;(

We had reached the stage over there of telling the rest of the gaming community exactly how we feel and what to expect, so this is it:

Expect more frustration. Expect fewer minstrels. Expect more hunters and champions. Expect many minstrels to switch to the runekeeper; a brilliant soloer and viable support to primary healer. Expect to have to fight every inch of the way to get things changed.

I believe I have the support of the vast majority of the MoM minstrel community, who have experienced these changes first-hand.

I feared this.

Honestly, I just can't see turbine not changing things. They've been good about listening to concearns in the past I doubt they'd stop now. I just hope they "fix" it fast.

From what I see on that thread from a Turbine marketing person, no changes will happen until after Moria goes live.

If I'm reading this right, this is may drive me batty. Playing a minstrel and thinking war-speech is 99% crap puts my play style in the minority to begin with. I leveled to 50 before war-speech and didn't think the "slog" was all that bad. I had just come from EQ where a solo dark blue was no less than 2 minutes when I quit, not counting down time in between, so the pace didn't bother me. I made a healer to be a healer, not expecting lightning fast soloing and was pleased that I could at all. War-speech sacrifices healing for DPS, which greatly reduced my solo survivability and I was much better off without it.

Now the fans of war-speech are complaining that it's nearly as slow as launch. Where's this leave somebody like me who never liked that stance in the first place and is not geared for DPS at all? I'm not at all interested in building a "battle-cleric" just to function solo.

It's possible that these changes may have less of an effect on my solo play than others, but if the difference in standard weapon/melee skill damage is only about 20% from 50 to 60, this will make for some really long fights. I'm assuming the morale of a level 60 mob is about double that of the average 50, is that close?

Mitigation has been reduced. Does this mean I should be scolding myself for slowly sliding to a light armour build and getting rid of my old medium stuff that had higher armour value? Will it matter?

Crit reduction is really going to mess up war-speech and will likely make me remove the piercing cry stun-on-crit trait. There are probably better things I can slot if it's only going to crit 3-4% of the time.

Did the crit and mitigation reduction hit the Lore-masters as well?

Well, it was to be expected. Minstrels shoulda kept there awesomeness under their hats:D

I think I'm glad I've worked up my melee traits on my Mins. I've recently been trying to max my dps, sans warspeech, with some success (so many groups insist their Minstrel not be in warspeech). I just hope they continue to smooth things out...and that my mismatched gear holds me up in Moria.

Can you confirm rumors of the Moors:

- Visible stars are going away...T or F?
- Hunters will no longer be able to use DF in the Moors...T or F?
- Weavers are getting some sort of power drain...T or F?
- Others?

Is there anything, overall, that would be good to get done in preparation of MoM?

all of those are true. (typing quickly)'

Edit: I'm not sure about the DF being completely disabled in the moors, but it has been altered -> Only in the moors. The skill still works the same in PvE

Yes, there is a sixth tier. (I'm not sure if the crafting guilds are tied to that tier though)
