So many games...Follow

#1 Oct 19 2008 at 1:52 PM Rating: Good
...and not enough time during the day to play them all.

after buying one of the Aussie PC gaming magazines over the weekend, I was reading through the reviews and the release dates, and I noticed that for my gaming pleasure, the next month or so is going to be very busy for me.

With my next pay (Which I will have 3 months back pay comiung along with it thank god) I will have Fallout 3, Farcry 2 and Dead Space coming out (My fiance is going to kill me if I buy all 3).

With my pay after that, so far I know of WotLK coming out.

It's making me wish I could go to a place where time moves very slowly and I could get in a good time of each every day (Bad enough that I want to play Sacred 2 more and also do WoW 3.0 stuff every night, as well as try and get in some time with MK: Armageddon on the PS2)

I can't wait for Fallout 3. I will eventually pick up Little Big Planet, hopefully when it comes out. I'd like to get Dead Space and Silent Hill: Homecoming, even though I keep seeing low reviews for Silent Hill, I just love that series, Dead Space looks to be an awesome Resident Evil in Space kind of thing.

I'm still playing Wipeout HD, I really hope they start getting downloads and track packs available for it, there are only 8 tracks right now. The first PSP Wipeout has something like 20 if you download all the free packs. I picked up FFTA2 again, because I never finished that game, and I've been playing the **** out of Mother 3.

edit: About 21hrs in, Im 60+, on the last chapter. Holy **** it's been fun.

What I like, by contrast to Earthbound, is the difficulty curve isn't as steep. I always seen Earthbound getting ******** hard around Fourside or so, and the curve really spiking up, whereas Mother3 has been gradual, and I've only had to really stop and level a bit only a couple of times. It's a pretty solid story too.

I like the fact that there is little penalty for death. If you continue, you keep any exp and a abilities earned, but you lose the items you used up trying to stay alive. Do you even loose half your carried DP? I don't remember. I keep all my DP with a frog because of Earthbound.

I'm at about 32ish, just started pulling needles. The story is kooky enough to be endearing and entertaining, while leaving space for an actually good fable. The foreshadowing is a little simple, but I'm ok with that, the bizarre happenings are more than enough to make up for the simplicity of the plot.

The items you get from the Magypyies are great, they are life savers.

Regardless, protip: When you get to Tanetane Island, be sure that Lucas is at 53 for the PsiCounter move, or you're gonna be toast at the needle.

Picked up Fallout 3 and there are two MMORPG expansions coming out in the middle of November. EQ2 and World of Warcraft. Plenty of stuff to keep me fat and happy over the winter months!

I know the pain. I still have games from 3 years ago that I keep saying "I'm going to get to it. I really will."

I just have to start boiling off the lower-quality games and only play the real gems when I have less play time. I had to make time for Mega Man 9 when it hit, as some of my fondest memories of gaming are the original MM series on the NES. The fact that Capcom would do something like that just makes me giddy. I played through it in 2 days.
