Teehee.

Well, I decided to heal Harold's heart. Harold himself turned around in the end, that old man isn't terribly happy with me, but the old lady gave me a sweet hood that gives a bonus to stealth and agility.

Killed the heart...I got ...uh... OH, barkskin mutation from the radioactive blood hitting me. I think it gave -5% damage taken or something. Next play-though, I'll probably get the hood you got.

Well, I just finished the game earlier today. I'm not going to go into too much detail on the ending, so as not to spoil anybody. Suffice it to say, though, pretty much the entire second "half" of the main quest felt like it was more or less thrown together in the last couple of weeks before release, and the ending itself left a rather bitter taste in my mouth, ESPECIALLY since I didn't get to continue playing afterward like EVERY OTHER #*@&ING BETHESDA TITLE! Smiley: banghead

Overall, it's certainly an enjoyable game, and I'll most likely be replaying it several times, but I think in the future I'm going to mostly ignore the main quest, or at least, leave it on the backburner until I've leveled up a whole lot and done a bunch of sidequests.

I've been very careful progressing through the main story . Keeping saves before entering places just in case I get to the point where I can't go do side quests and such.

I think my biggest complaints so far are the level cap of 20, the hacking system, and the skill requirement to hack/pick things. I have to save every time I try to hack a terminal just in case I **** it up and get unlucky or something. (I know about the brackets, it's just retarded sometimes.)

I know it was sorta lame in oblivion that you could lock pick the highest tier lock right at the start...but ****...I'm at 93 Science right now and can't use terminals that require 100. Plus, I'm already level 20 so my only hope of getting 100 is through finding more BIG BOOKS OF SCIENCE and lugging around a +5 science suit.

hit three things, if you dont get it, turn off the computer and restart it, it will completely reset.

usually i just go in, guess 3 words, exit, rinse and repeat until i get it.

Ah, cool. Thanks...Less save/load for me, though I think I'm starting to get a bit better at hacking them. Plus, I got a +10 science suit from some quest. So now I can get into the very hard ones.

Smiley: yippee

I think this run-through is starting to run down though...Can't wait to start a new one as an evil person.

*SPOILERS!*
It says in the thread, but extra warning maybe helps a bit.

I still haven't been to Galaxy News Radio. Haven't gone back to face that Goliath.

I found out that you could kill him easy by hiding under the building left,(left from facing the GNR door) there he cant reach you, he goes chasing around those 2 BoS named NPC's that are unkillable while you take pot shots with any weapon. So it was an easy fight for me.
Anyway with me just before i came to GNR i met a platoon of BoS Lyons pride guys, one of them that Lyon's pride leader lady. (i play good this first go-through)
I thought maybe throw it in as a tip for those who have difficulty with that fight.

For the rest im doing every side quest possible / i have before progressing through the main quest, for the rest i explored a lot, i see buildings far off and go check em out. Im level 15 and just got my power armor training yesterday.

For the game itself,
Personally i also played 1 and 2 "back in the day" and thought 3 is 10x better in every aspect and when i reached vault 112 i elevated 3 to pure genius status.
Not majorly original themes, true, but very well executed. I LOVE the game, while i thought Morrowind was very so-so, and extremly clunky gameplay, I didnt even finish it.

On the official forums i saw people complaining how it was "not as cool as the original", some people always complain, they say the fights arent as strategic, they must have played another fallout 1 and 2 then i have bc those games were standing still and unloading your preferred weapon. And also NPC's were useless mules (esp after you get power armor) and as uncontrollable as in 3.

And i get the level cap, its not fun when your char is way OP for the content as in Fallout 2.

I don't mind the 20 cap so far. Granted, I'm still level 17, and close to the end of the game. But I know the cap is there, so I've planned accordingly. I've only raised lockpicking to 90, and if I come across a 100 lock, I just pop some mentats, I've got about 50. Drugs are my answer to everything in that game. Just over the weight limit to fast travel? Buffout! Too dumb to disarm that trap? Mentats!

I've only found two bobbleheads so far, and need to find some crutches again to make the railway gun. I'll probably give up on side crap, and beat the game. Then start over as a complete *******, and play again.

I can't express how glad I am that this game is out now. I think they did the first two games justice with this update.

the level cap kinda sucks, but tehre is now a mod that increases it to 30-40.

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/

theres lots of other neat stuff, including a flash map with area and bobblehead locations, for those that like knowing where everything is.

I might be wrong but I think Nixnot was talking about a different Super Mutant. He said he hasn't been to GNR yet.

SPOILERS
The way I did GNR was after you kill the couple normal super mutants(is that an oxymoron?) with the BoS npcs just go up the steps to the Radio station. From there you can look over the railing and take shots at the Behemoths head. I only had one unnamed BoS die, which was cool because I got to loot it.

In case anyone was having trouble reaching Rivet City or just wants to go there on a low level here's what I did. I already had the map marker so I knew where to go. I just went south from Megaton until I was lined up with Rivet. Then just swim east until you get close. I only had to fight one Super Mutant and that was only because he detected me.

I meant the behemoth outside of the GNR building. I finally went back and did that quest, and the followup with Three Dog. An interesting quest line, but totally unneeded for me when I finally went back through. It was good for exploring downtown though.

I got to Rivet City by way of the river too, but I stayed on the banks, sneaking around the decaying buildings, and only had to deal with raiders on occasion.

I remember that I think you suck for some reason I can't remember, and you were really really pestering me with questions about why I think you suck, which made me think you sucked more. Smiley: grin

See? I make an impact. If you don't like me at first I'll just keep pushing until you're exhausted and you finally submit.

Glad to see you like Fallout. It's really a fun game. I made my character a ginger with the "dead mans hand" facial hair, it makes me laugh in VATS all the time. You?

I have been enjoying this game as well on the Xbox 360. My only problem is that I haven't yet decided on the "correct" Spec for stats and perks. I played through to level 7 and thats usually the time I get the feeling to start over and do a better job...

Incredible game though. It may be years until I finish it!

I'm doing all I can to not go through the main quest just so I can explore and do quests as I go along. Just picked up my first Lab and Workbench. Jukebox was first though, naturally. I'm a ******* saint.
I'm also trying not to look at any guides or walkthroughs or maps just so I can enjoy the spontaneity.

Sam the Butcher is a ****** up song.

I just beat the game earlier this week. I did that too, I didn't read any spoilers or strategies, and just went. Now I'm going through again, but I have a really good idea how to min/max all the stats I really want. First time, I was a goody two-shoes too, but now, I'm being a jerk. I've stolen about half of the goods not nailed down in Megaton, been slowly trying to find places where I can hide and steal ****, but it's proving difficult.

I didn't listen to the radio very often. I like being stealthy, so I leave it, and the Pipboy light, off, because it ***** with your stealth.

But, all in all, this game is the first game in a LONG time, that I have beaten, and am genuinely looking forward to playing through it again, and exploring more areas, and quite possibly, playing it again, and striving for the neutral karmic path.

Up to level 17.8 as of last night. I haven't even progressed the main story line too much after Three Dog.

Playing as an almost holy karma guy with lockpicking, small guns, laser guns, and explosives maxed out.

This game is still as fresh as the day it came out.

The only problem is that I cannot do anything evil. The closest thing to taking a bad karma hit was lockingpicking a door for a bobble head.

I am such a wuss.
