Mega Man 9 came out today. Well actually Yesterday I guess if you want to get technical. I always enjoyed the older Megaman games. For anybody who has been following this game it is available as a Wii Ware game and it basically uses the same engine as Megaman 1-6 uses.

Not thinking twice I shelled out the 10.70 (thanks ohio for the BS tax on digital downloads) for this game. Start to play it only to find this game is harder then the f**king X series. Every damn stage on here is full of one BS jumpy area after another. I know that has always been one of the challenge of previous MM games but I feel it goes way too far. I can see 1 or 2 stages being kinda difficult but its just ridiculous to have every damn stage full of this crap. To top it off you don't get the slide or Mega Buster (at least not at first).

Anyways this is why I hate digital downloads. Now I have a game that I despise and I can't do anything about it. If they want to do this Digital Download crap I think they should have some way to transfer the rights to somebody else. I know that will never happy but that would be the right thing to do. I never had any problems with MM1 through 8 other then the final boss in MM7 that sucked. Hell to this day I can still beat MM2 on hard mode and I have heard of people claiming that to be the most difficult game ever. So I guess if you love getting pissed and throwing controllers this is the game for you.

this game is rough
(and a shot out to my friend Q who bought it for me)
its oldschool patterns (a lost art imo)
half the fun if finding the patterns and using it (yes there are "use the cord to tie up the cat light on fire and throw through window" moments but it is balanced with the "a ha"

Assuming that Mega Man 9 only has 8 bosses, and the game was easy, then you would burn through it, and feel empty, as you just spent $10 on a game that lasted you an hour or so.

I actually enjoy games that make you angry at the game. A couple of my favorite games are Ghouls and Goblins, Earthbound, Legend of Zelda 2, because they are hard. It will take time to get through them, and in the end, when you finally beat it, you feel accomplished...or at least as accomplished as you can feel for beating a video game.

The only thing hard about the X series were the final bosses.

The retro graphics and sound brougth a big fat grin across my face when I fired up Mega Man 9 yesterday.
As far as dificulty, I would put it somewhere between 2 and 3. I say that because 3 was the only one I ever beat, and 1 and 2 were the only ones where I got close to the end. All the others were so damn hard, I could hardly even make it to the bosses. I've only had the game for a day and I've already beaten Galaxy Man and Splash Woman.
I'm very pleased with it. I'm with Whaods inasmuch that I like a game that's hard enough that it's frustrating, but you're somehow compelled to keep playing because it's still an awesome game.

Don't forget X5, it's near impossible to beat. Or was it X6, it's one of those two.

Yeah, it was X6.

Splash Woman and Galaxy Man are the easiest bosses (with the m.buster). The bosses are cake once you get their weakness, its the stage parts that are hard. Thank god for the Jewel Shield and the Rush Plane though.

The worst part of the game was in Plugman's world, the stupid jumping puzzles. I was never a fan of those, and wound up just buying a ******** of Beats to fly me across the gap.

Why do people have such a hard time with Mega Man 2? What is the part that is so difficult to people in that game? Well I mean people talk about having a hard time with MM2 then they blow through games that I don't even stand a chance at lol. That has got to be the easiest of the series IMO? I mean other then Quickman's stage none of them are remotely difficult. There are no elephants sucking you into a hole, no almost impossible to dodge robots pulling you into spikes, no extremely long disappear reappear block segments, no mini bosses stuck in the middle of the stage to kill you when your half health, etc etc. Several bosses are easy without knowing their weakness. Heatman's stage I guess is kinda hard with the blocks but Item #2 takes care of that.

Far as Wily Castle goes its rather easy IMO.

Still for the life of me I have not been able to beat 1 single stage on MM9. I give up. I will end up breaking my controller and whatever happens to be in its path if I play this game again.

Of all the original Mega Man games 1 through 8 The only part I ever had this much difficulty with would have to be the Final Boss in Mega Man 7. That was some seriously hard crap IMO.

Oh funny thing is the only stage I could get through was the one mentioned as being the worst.. Plugman's Stage. It sucked but its the only one I ever got through. OF course I didn't beat the boss since I had 0 lives and liek 1/4 health. I could have seen me taking him if I had another life but ehh.

the furnace guy anyone? fireman, flameman, whatever his name was, had a horrible dissapearing block section, that IIRC, if you didnt have the flying dog thing (cant even remember his name) you had to do a really long one over lava.

other than that though ya, i find 2 to be fairly easy.
