Can't we just agree to disagree?
We each have our own beliefs, let it be.

Hm.. disappointing that there are people so intolerant over this post. I am not all that fond of it but I did not want to attack it. If reflects badly upon these forums when people cannot just be somewhat friendly. Just inform the poster this is not the place for it and be done with it, don't go out of your way to try and offend.

Welcome to the least open minded group who like to think they are open minded (i.e., hypocrites!)

There is a time and a place for everything. FFXI is not a forum for religious propaganda. The only zealots I wanna see in FFXI are Yagudo.

ALL the guy did was say "here is a place where you can worship the lord while playing your MMO" I hate it when people read too far into what is written when sometimes the simplest answer is usually the correct one.

Now for those who will read too far into my post, I used a scientific term to simply state a point. I also did not bad mouth anyone here, I just simply stated my distaste in your actions. Or in lamens terms "don't hate the playa hate the game"

You may want to look up the term propaganda.
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/propaganda

Propaganda simply does not mean it isn't true. It is simply ideas that help influence your descisions. By that definition, beer commercials are propaganda.

I am disappointed, all the mentions of green arrows yet no one brings up this fellow. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Arrow

I always wanted to mention it, but they took away my arrows long ago D:

In that case.. Excuse me sir but would you have the time to hear the word of Tzee Xicu the Manifest?

Edit: I forgot about the poor Tonberry, even I have forgotten about the goddess they worship.. No love for Uggalepih..

I wonder how those complaining about intolerance here would feel if the OP was announcing hir plans for an Islamic ministry instead. How about if the OP was announcing hir plans to stump for Obama or McCain?

If everyone is so keen on proselytizing in a damn video game, well...

Congratulations! You're all popes now.

I bet even God can't solo a rabbit. Those things are called godkillers for a reason. All hail the mighty bunny!

(Plus the fact that I'm gay sorta means I've developed somewhat of a large pool of enmity toward christianity due to having to worry about my life every time one of them starts talking about **** burning in hell and God will smite them down. I've had enough of my life ruined by that religion to pretty much go RAWR the instant I see it mentioned. ._.;)

I'm pretty sure nobody is interested in having beer commercials on these forums either.

I mean, I like beer, but I don't need somebody bugging me to convert to Coors Lite during a merit party.

Edit: Default for suggesting that I don't want to hear commercials while I'm playing a game? What the **** is wrong with you people?

If you're going to post a link to correct me; click on it first to make sure I used the word incorrectly. In this instance the word was carefully chosen and fit this situation nicely.

Well, regardless of religion I would say this is not the place, and feel it would not be all that good for them to post it on here. Speaking politics though, depends on who they support. If it was Obama I'd say take it to the Asylum, if McCain I would probably just recommend they run away before the ratedowns commence.

Except, he didn't actually begin to preach ANYTHING. He simply said what his online community is about, he didn't even begin to try to force his beliefs on ANY of you.

So far all I see are a bunch of people ganging up on him and spewing the same old "ARRRGH DON'T FORCE YOUR BELIEFS ON ME!!" crap, yet at the same time will type a @#%^ing essay about why they don't practice any sort of religion and why the whole thing is "stupid" to begin with and be absolutely oblivious to the hypocrisy and irony of it all.

I don't like that people think religion is untouchable and never should have any negative comments towards it. Apparently we're not allowed to say how we feel about what the op is doing.

He's not preaching in this topic but going by his post he's doing it in the games:

Quote:
who are dedicated to preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to the online community

Doesn't sound like something that's just being kept with the guild/linkshell.

And no one's a hypocrite for stating their discontent cause no one's coming here expecting people to to deconvert just by posting that they don't really believe or that it might just be wrong to preach things like religion in an MMO. Nothing ironic at all about it. You just don't like your beliefs being scrutinized.

Hypocrisy would be if someone posting something like:

Quote:
OMG! Christianty sucks so much! You should be an atheist. Please visit these sites <posts like 10 athiest sites and videos> and learn the TRUTH!

People who try to push their religion on others are showing their complete and utter disrespect for anyone that doesn't believe exactly as they do.

Hell, there's not even much agreement between christian sects.

I am not interested in christianity, it has done more harm to this world than any other organized religion since the dawn of time (even more than Islam). The judeochristian religions are a cancer on this earth. I can count on one hand the number of christians I've met in my life that I believe embody the teachings of their prophet.

Keep your religion to yourself and I'll keep mine to myself. "By their works shall ye know them." That test of this particular faith pretty much negates most of what christians try to preach.

And here my friends would be an example of intolerance. While this poster could of just been done after their first paragraph and sentence, he or she felt the need to go on only to talk badly about the subject. This isn't the place to preach religion, but this isn't the place to attack it either now is it?

You do know that doesn't matter right?(Not meaning to sound mean). This thread will likely go on for a few days, erupt into a big argument, then either die down from some off topic lol posts, or get locked.

I agree. It's sad to see such intolerance. This isn't much different than any other post that communities post, niche or otherwise. Don't like it? Ignore it! Just like any other community you don't care to be apart of!

Just my 2cp!
