I just started playing SWG and I have a few questions. I created a jedi and ive quested up to lvl 30 alone and I just got my first gen lightsaber. Now from 30-90 is it easy to solo because I noticed a lot of the players seem like they dont wanna be botherd. Also I am looking into becoming a dark jedi and I dont know if I need to join the imperals or not. Also am I able to turn my 1st gen lightsaber into a 2nd gen when I get to the right lvl? Also I havnt found any quest or anything for any instances (what lvl can I start doing them?)
I also own a small home and I cant seem to figure out how to make anything to put into my house or find something that I can keep items in. Any help with some of these questions would be helpful.

If you are just looking for a place to store items in your home, the easiest thing to do is drop a backpack inside the house (perhaps one you have looted). When you click on it, it will open the backpack's inventory screen. You can then open your inventory screen and drag whatever items you wish to store into the backpack.
As far as making items (furniture, decoration, etc.), only crafter/traders can do that. If you are interested in buying these items, you need to go to a bazaar terminal. Depending on your server's population and economy, you may be able to find some of these items for sale directly on the terminal (Mos Eisley is usually the best place to start looking).
Leveling from 30-90 is easily soloable, but SWG is a MMORPG and there are many aspects of the game which will require grouping with other players.

You can furnish your house by purchasing all types of furniture from the bazaar.
be prepared though.. furnishing houses can take hours.. depending on your sense of style anyway ;D
you should be able to find plenty of furniture/decorations etc, if you do a private vendor search, someone somewhere will have loads on their vendor just waiting for you to buy it :D

nobody has answered his main questions yet.
30-90 Can be mostly solo'd with the exception of a few quests on kashyyyk, on Mustafar and the last legacy quest. The easiest thing you can do to start getting people to be more talkative, is talk to them first, and make sure to be nice to em. (when most people see me in eisley they dont even try to talk to me, its nice when someone does, but generally I have to make the effort) As for becoming a dark jedi, all you have to do is go into your game menu, where you find your commands, and collections, and community, and go to expertise, and then under path you can spec either Darkside, or Lightside.
As for your second gen saber, you will get the ability to craft that later on in your gameplay. Make sure you have a +15 crafting kit, some bespin port, some pyollian cake, and are using a +44.9999999 crafting station.
As for putting items in your house, all you have to do is go inside of your house, and go into your inventory, radial menu (the ~ key or the ' key by default) and hit drop. from there you can move them with various radial or text commands. /move up (or down or left or right) /rotate yaw (-180 to 180) and the new commands I wont worry about since they must be unlocked.
