They don't make games like they used to.
Seriously, what ever happened to all the old 3D flight sims that were mission based and would cause certain parts of your craft to stop working if you were hit in specific areas?
My favorite among those were the old X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter games. Even though graphics have gotten better, gameplay in newer games such as Rogue Squadron just don't feel as solid.
I miss taking off and landing on carriers, giving commands to wingmen and setting my deflector shields in combat. I miss being equally vulnerable as all the CPU crafts, and not being a one-man army like in all the games today.
It seems ironic somehow that I can no longer play these games because my computer is too new to run them. I've tried DOS emulators, but none of them work correctly.
I dream of a day a collection of DOS classics is released for Windows. Games like the original Warcraft, Commander Keen, Airbourne Ranger...
