Well ya'll, last night was the Turbine meet for all of their games, and boy was it fun! I got to talk to some players from servers everywhere, and the rooms were *hopping* with peoples!
I met the guys from a few different fan and media sites, and Patience was there as the supreme hostess.
The DDO and AC staff were fun to talk to, their fans were as passionate and accepting of those playing LotRO as one could hope for (though that table of guys Angie and I introduced ourselves to and tried to make small talk with were less then happy!).
LotRO folks were fun to chat with, though I haven't played in months. Most servers were well represented and the MoM expansion is being widely considered the content that will make or break the lore, and more so, the game. Many people are concerned that if they do it wrong, it will destroy all the good the game has done for the Tolkien heritage. We'll have to wait and see! Come on Balrog!
The food was yummy, the screens had Turbine videos goin' on, and in general it was a great time had by all! I even snagged myself a LotRO Mines of Moria shirt. And by "myself" of course I mean it's being sent over to Word as soon as I have a free second to get it in the mail!
I didn't take any pictures (I know, I'm scummy rotten), but I have some others going up soon!
From the last night at Gen Con this is Tovin, geeking out!

To the people screaming, whining, and complaining about lore issues that haven't even come out yet:
In my very humble, loving, and gracious opinion, people need to chill out
about the lore issues. Ultimately this is a fantasy game, get. over. it. Turbine hasn't gone overboard yet, and I really don't expect them too. If a time comes where Turbine slips up, Tolkien Enterprise (Or is it estate?) can intervene. In the mean time: Stop freaking out about things you know nothing about.
*lets out built up frustration, and readies to take on assualt*

LOL! I must admit, that was more of a freak out then anyone I talked to at the meet. ;p

Yes I know! I've gotten to the point of freak out! Honestly, it's plaguing the official forums....there were about 5-6 threads about it, now it seems they've grouped them into one....
