Tbh, I have not yet refreshed my gametime this month. I will be doing that, but I'm in no hurry. I just don't understand what Funcom is doing! There's a lot of potential in AoC!
My sentiments exactly. Game is great, but people are dropping like flies. If it was the only mmo i played i would be gutted. Thankfully wow draws me back every other day, keeps my head cool and keeps me off the aoc eu forums, ha ha, which are terribad to the extreme.
When it comes down to it, its not the game that winds me up. Its the Mods/customer support and the way in which it treats people. I applied for a mods position way back in may just before launch, the application was quite extensive, none disclosures, forum practices etc. I got the position along with another nine ppl.
At that point the forums exploded, game launch madness, flame city wall to wall. I was sent a mail by Glen Swan asking for my forum handle/name which was promptly sent. That was the last i heard from the guy, never recieved another mail. Contacted forum mods and was told the positions had been taken. Thats when the 2 Pi team turned up, Pro Forum Squad.
I guess they brought them in as a "clean up" team, the forums were bad and i suppose they wanted a more aggressive stance. Everyone wishes for a flame-free forum, but to annihilate every topic that disagrees with Funcom and its products is way over the top.
There are certain topics that will not be tolerated, it doesnt give much room for the customers to get things off their chests.
Having said all that i still love the game, im lvl 50 because i rp too much. Not having reached the cap like a lot of people have is fine, they are bored and i am not. The only problems ive had are either quest bugs or terrain issues, the game runs like a dream.
It used to be the other way round but i tend to be reading the US forums more now, slightly better moderation and more info coming through overall.
Still doesnt have the polish of Warcraft, jeez, it may never, but i like rough diamonds, especially ones that can do fatalities.
