27% off at GetGamesGo. It's Steamworks so it doesn't matter where you get it from since it activates on Steam anyway.

PSA: Steam Summer Sale likely starts soon. Current speculation puts it at Thursday the 28th, so consider holding off on any game you're looking at buying that isn't a daily deal until the Summer Sale ends.

I still have games from the last summer sale I haven't gotten to yet.

Put on your hipster glasses and go retro with Worlds of Ultima 1 & 2 for free at GOG. They don't list an expiration on the offer so I don't know if they're permanently free or a limited offer.

The Civ 5 expansion Gods & Kings is live, getting good reviews and still $21.87 at GetGamesGo (vs $29.99). I wouldn't expect it to be lower for the Steam summer sale since they usually put stuff from 6-12+ months on the big sales, not brand new releases.

Alone in the Dark 1, 2, and 3 are in a bundled pack for $3.59 and Fahrenheit is for $2.39 at GoG.com.

Just in case that last deal as a buck-eighty too rich for you, MacUpdate is selling Gods & Kings for a cool $20 for the next day or so. From what I've heard, the Steam key works on both Mac & PC platforms.

Those who paid $21.87 will have to rage when they can afford 0.33% less of an indie game on sale from Steam next week.

More free stuff -- Green Man Gaming is giving away Commandos 3: Destination Berlin. You also get a 10% voucher on various games including the new Quantum Conundrum if you were interested in it.

Offer only lasts until 1100 UTC on June 22nd (6:00am Central US time tomorrow). As always, you can just "buy" it now and not bother downloading it until you're good and ready.

Total War weekend at GamersGate. The "Complete Collection"* is $25 and includes Medieval 2, Rome (w/ Alexander), Shogun, Shogun 2 (with DLC, does not include FotS), Empire & Napoleon.

*Apparently "complete" excludes the original Medieval: TW

Or you can get the games separately. Range from $2.50 for Shogun & Medieval 2 up to $7.50 for Shogun 2 (which will probably be on sale for $5 on Steam next week)

Quantum Conundrum is still 10% off on Steam. You should get it because you get to listen to John de Lancie for the entire game.

GMG has a 25% off voucher for Quantum Conundrum for the next 15ish hours.

Quantum Conundrum - $11.25 with voucher
QC Season Pass (base game + two future DLC) - $15 with voucher

Edit I: Also, Steam has Deus Ex: Human Revolution on sale! Can you believe it? That's it... mods, shut this thread down. I'm done Smiley: mad

Edit II: I originally went to GMG because they tweeted that JULIA was 50% off ($15). I have no idea what the game is about or if it's any good but the stills look pretty. Ok... NOW I'm done! Smiley: madSmiley: mad

I just bought the Deus Ex entire collection for $14.99. Smiley: nod All those other sales I had games I was still into. This one catches me at just the right amount of bored with my other games.

I don't usually buy the games I mention here (or else I'd be posting from my hobo crate) but I did pick up Quantum Conundrum. If you've seen the previews, it's 100% what you would expect it to be and if you think you'd like it, you almost certainly will. Portal-esque problem solving with TF2-esque graphics. Certainly worth the $12-$15 if that description sounds attractive to you.

One annoyance is that there's very little in the way of settings and it sometimes hitches on my system. It hasn't been an issue yet but from what I understand the game gets more platform-y later in and you can imagine how much fun judging jumps is when you're not running smoothly. One of the devs posted to the QC subsection of the Steam forums and said they were planning on patching in more video/performance options in the next few days. I might play a little more while it's still easy and then set it aside until I can tweak the settings.

If you're talking about when the blast doors open, it's an unfortunate effect of using the Unreal Engine. It freezes the game while it loads the next section. The one thing I don't like about this game is the fact that you don't have any "feet" to see where you are standing on objects. Too many times I've fallen off platforms when I tried to edge out to catch a flying safe.

It's hitched a few other times when I'm moving or panning quickly. Nothing horrible or game breaking but if I can tweak to avoid it, I may as well do so.

Edit: Now that I'm paying closer attention to it, it is happening when approaching a new "level". I guess it's the system creating the new space then. I've done several jumping puzzles without any problem aside from my own lack of coordination.

Hey Joph, you may want to try this edit. It changes the FOV so it's more compatible with PCs, and should help with the hiccups.

Quote:
steam\steamapps\common\Quantum Conundrum\Engine\Config
Make sure you go to ENGINE, and not TryGame

Open BaseInput.ini

Under general bindings, add this
Bindings=(Name="F12",Command="FOV 110",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False)

Change the FoV to whatever you want, press f12 when you're in game to apply the change.

GMG Has Alan Wake at 66% off. $10 for the regular edition, $12 for Collector's Edition.

Steam Summer Sale almost certainly starts this week, probably the 27th or 28th.

Amazon has the Dragon Age double pack on sale again. Dragon Age:Origins (Ultimate Edition w/ DLC), Awakenings and Dragon Age II all for a total of $10. If you don't own this, you owe it to yourself, your children and your community to buy it. If you have it on a console, you need to buy it for the PC for the mods. Individual games are $4.99 each.

People outside the US can trick amazon by using a false US mailing address for their shipping address. Other information (such as your CC billing address) should all remain accurate. Others here have done this so they may have more information than I.

It looks like the Steam Summer Sale will likely start tomorrow but who knows. I believe in the past it's been more or less centered around Independence Day so it might not be until Monday for all I know. I'd still bet on tomorrow though.

LA Noire's been the mid-week special ($4.99 base, $7.49 complete). If you already own it but bought it when it was the core game, the DLC pack is on sale for $2.99

Looks like the public wisdom about the Steam Sale was wrong.

GamersGate has Mass Effect 1 & 2 for $4.99 each and Mass Effect 3 for $29.98 (50% off) today.

They probably have to wait a few more days for the excitement over MtP to fade, so people won't miss the announcement.

There was much wailing, gnashing of teeth and rending of sackcloth on the Steam forums at about 12:10pm CST.
