I've been trying REALLY hard to keep an open mind on the game. This is not helping.
When I first heard about it I wanted it to die in a fire. Then I heard they were changing a lot of the things that pissed me off so I set aside my anger of yet another franchise I hold dear being utterly destroyed due to greed and stupidity, and started to look into it again. Then I wanted it to die in a fire all over again for a huge list of all new reasons.
If PVP and lack of housing are what's bothering you, just stop right now. The rest of the crap they've done will **** you off.
I may have just let out a disgruntled groan.
I just don't get why they'd make it a PVP-centric game? That boggles my mind.
I mean, let's point out that the only PVP MMO that has done well is EVE, which is essentially a different genre. So it's already a risky proposition.
But why the hell would you take ES, which has always been a solo PVE experience, and decide that it needs to be a multiplayer PVP experience?
How does that make any sense?
Honestly, if they had just made multiplayer Skyrim, and used city wards to open up player housing (maybe with some in-game manors that required high taxes in upkeep or something, for prestige), I feel like their profit potential would be way higher.
I just don't see most MMO players playing for PVP.
