The thing most tempting me is not even on sale or released yet. Dragons Dogma, I heard good things about it but missed it in the PS3 era. This PC version comes with all DLC and up to 4k resolution. Totally gonna bite even though it does not come out until Jan 15. Have a couple other wishlisted things I may toss in there as Merry Christmas to me.

The game was great up until the point where I lost 3 hours due to a bug and just couldn't be bothered to play it anymore.

I picked up FO3 since my comp can't quite run FO4 and I didn't have all the DLC on the console copy I own. Gonna play with some mods for that for the heck of it.

Gotta jump through a few hoops to get your Steam key through them.

Go to their website
Register
Put a valid billing address in
Redeem your key from Amazon
Link your Steam Account
Request a key for your game
Redeem key on your Steam Account

I mean, ya, not hard, but they could have just not done that and sold Steam Keys.

I had free Microsoft moneys on Amazon though.

(They increased the number of points per day to 38, so it only takes 12 days to get a 5 dollar amazon gift card now).

Life is Strange Complete
Bound by Flame
Dragons Dogma
Way of the Samurai 4
Steam Link
Shadowrun: Hong Kong
Mad Max

Happy 2016 to me!

Been streaming to my 60" TV for a while using a laptop. Would rather not have that laptop stuck on the TV. Gonna give the Steam link a try instead.

Been playing Life is Strange... Holy Feelz Mind **** I see why this game made GOTY lists now. It starts off pretty white kids with problems and quickly becomes a quagmire of feels and everything that is wrong with the world + butterfly effect. Stick with it if you pick it up. Wow. Their are a couple of puzzles that are more annoying than fun to me but a quick google puts you right back in the rather well done story.

Now I just need to decide which game is next to bridge me until Dragons Dogma comes out on the 15th. It will probably be Mad Max.

I picked up Pillars of Eternity. I've heard good things, and I had nothing else to spend my free Steam money on. I may even get around to playing it one day.

I bought Titanfall Deluxe from Amazon for $5 and that's it. Me and a few friends might play it one night for laughs and that'll probably be the last time (but if we have fun for a night that's worth five dollars).

Thought about buying Styx but it's already 75% off and Of Orcs & Men got bundled so maybe I'm better off waiting.

Someone put together an interesting chart comparing cost of gaming on PC vs. console, if anyone's interested.

It's also not super surprising. Consoles have (on release) good hardware at a cheap price, due to hardware developer subsidy. They make that back by charging licensing fees to game sellers, which means tiny cap games don't really make it to market on a console, so cost per game is higher. If you only play 4-5 titles casually, a console is probably better choice (if you don't have a desktop, and use cell for lookup). However if you have a lot of console games, you will probably spend more. This guy has both a gaming PC and a console (which is pretty typical for a gaming enthusiast) so his net cost will be more, since he pays both platform entry costs.

As an aside, the total cost per year for is slightly higher for this guy on the console is less than the PC. (~500 vs. ~450).

So, basically all this graphic is saying is that his yearly gaming budget is ~$500.

Fallout 4 (PC box version) is around $33 on Amazon. It's been slowly dropping in price a few pennies an hour.

Gaah! Do I gamble that it will be cheaper when I can buy the comp upgrades I need to run it sometime around April, or do I buy it now?

I would wait if you're waiting for PC parts. It will definitely drop in price or be on sale again by that time.

While I'm sure everyone that frequents this thread probably already knows about it, I'll just mention that the current Humble Bundle featuring Ubisoft games is pretty solid. The only downside is that all but two of the games require Uplay...

Anyway, here's the list:

One dollar: Call of Juarez: Gunsliger, Grow Home, Rayman Origins

Beat the average (currently $8.54): Far Cry 3, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Blacklist, Assassin's Creed Chronicles China, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon

Fifteen Dollars: Assassin's Creed Rogue, The Crew

The hilariously overpriced Seventy-Five dollar tier: A preorder for Tom Clancy's The Division, a The Division T-shirt, and coupon good for 66% off of any three Ubisoft titles on the Humble store.

I went for the fifteen dollar option, I only had one of the games on the list and there were a few of them I'll probably play eventually, so I figured it was a good deal.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is $18 at Gamestop for a Steam key. $9 for the Season Pass although TR 2013 DLC was lame. Dead

The current Humble Weekly ain't shabby: Ink, Speedrunners, Divekick, Grim Fandango Remastered and Dead State for under $3 (currently $2.83)

JShackles is discontinuing work on Idle Master since the upcoming Mobile Authorization rules prevent him from using the market efficiently. The program should still theoretically work but won't receive new updates or support.
