Anyway enough about me. This is about gold. Gold is awesome in many ways, no so much in other ways. Collecting it is a favorite pastime for some, and an annoying chore for others. One thing about WoW is for the most part you can't buy decent gear with gold. The best stuff being all bind-on-pickup. That's great on one hand, on the other you'll have people complaining there isn't much to spend their gold on. Not enough gold sinks for the fabulously wealthy.
So here's my question: do you think gold should be a more important part of the game?
Do we bring on the epic yacht mounts and the BoE gear? Or would you like to see it's role diminished. I'm assuming it would always be there in some degree, in lieu of a pure barter system. But less BoE stuff, less to spend it on, less emphasis on it for quest rewards (more tokens perhaps?), etc. could reduce it's role quickly.
What would you like to see happen with gold in the game?
Expand it's role, give us more stuff we can purchase with it: | 9 (22.5%)
I like things the way they are: | 18 (45.0%)
Diminish it's role, it's too pivotal to the game already: | 4 (10.0%)
#$%& gold. Where's my beer, boobs, and bacon option?!: | 9 (22.5%)
Total: | 40 |
For myself I'm actually a little undecided. So I'm hoping you people will help the thought process along. While I'm not sure having everything BoE is something I'd go for, there's not really enough to spend gold on these days.
