Lacks emotion and proper pronunciation.
You should endure ordeal by KTV here.
Proper pronunciation? Optional, and that's if singing in standard Chinese (rather than one of the bajillion dialects). If singing in English, the odds get worse.
Emotion though? Emotion is shown by the enthusiasm with which one sings. Enthusiasm (as fans of Crazy English know) is shown by volume, particularly volume in the face of irrefutable evidence that you don't know the song, probably couldn't sing if you were sober and that sober was half a bottle of booze (and at least two packs of cigarettes) in the foggy past. True emotion extends to cranking the volume on the sound system and turning the reverb all the way up. Feedback means you. are. a. God! Yes, drunken businessmen here are full of emotion when they KTV.
Now, about that singing in English bit. Understand that the selections are probably "Edelweiss", a couple of tunes from the 60s (probably including "Hey Jude") and a short list of Lady Gaga's most popular videos. Stefani Germanotta may be one of the only people on the planet who has sung more Lady Gaga tunes than I have and that may not hold true for more than a couple more trips to the KTV. Since the holidays are upon us, that may be a very short time.
