I'm not an addon Queen. I don't require much. But the ones I use, I use SO much and find SO useful.

I'm glad to have new WOW content. But oh HELP WHEN CAN I HAVE MY ADDONS BACK? I really should donate more to the writers of my must-haves.

That auto mail box collector thingy.
AUCTIONEER.
Greyseller.
Deadly Boss Mods.

Auctioneer and DBM work for me. The only broken addon I had was Silverdragon, which patched last night but I haven't tested yet. That one made the loading screen crash.

AuctionLite was giving me issues, but I didn't bother to update it last night. Postal was working for me at least.

It's always scary the first day after a patch. I log in and WTF?! Then I remember I have to log out, enable out-of-date addons and come back in. That default UI is scary stuff. Smiley: rolleyes

Anyway it usually takes, what like a day or two to get things updated if they aren't ready on launch day?

Unless you count major expansions and you have someone in the raid group that can't cleanse a debuff without an addon and you spend a month wiping because of it but you aren't bitter or anything over a year later.

My guild's first raid of the week is Thursday so I get a little more leeway with updated/checking addons and usually the most vital ones have been sorted by then.

I've also tried to reduce the number of addons I use so that I should be able to manage without them if needed without too much hassle.

I remember one patch a while ago where I updated Macaroon without backing up my WTF folder, basically lost my whole spell and macro set up (because that was all saved in the addon itself) for my regularly played characters and their offspecs. After that I decided that I had to simplify my UI and stick to things that change the bar look/position but would keep my macros and spells in place if I couldn't use that addon.

My guild still jokes about when we ran MC with a "hardcore skilled" group just after a patch (being a group able to field maybe 10-15 folks in the days of 40-mans wasn't fun). Their healers were whining that Healbot was broken, leading to my guild adopting the meme "you may need to heal manually." Of course their strat for Geddon was to form a line so they only blew up two people instead of running out of the group, MC was really more a check of bodycount than skill.

Even though some Addons might have not been updated, if you click "Load out of date addons" box on your addons page, it should refresh them until they can get a real update.

I've never had any real problems on patch days if I remember to click that box.

Auctioneer is the only one giving me trouble, but I haven't checked the website yet.

Without Grid and Clique, people would die....

I would hate to go back to the old days where I targeted and had heals on 1-6, plus the F-Keys. I also like using xpearl to put my tank as focus and the focus target just above my grid. It makes for easy smite healing on the tank's target.

On a side note, I really had fun last night with the new 5-mans. New helm, shoulders, wand, tranmogged to my complete Prophecy set with Benediction. I loved all the fights.

The final boss of End Time is awesome. A fitting end to the Infinite Flight storyline.

Yeah, I really liked it too. Other than having a tank who didn't know to kite the boss though. >.> I would think it should be fairly obvious, when the boss is surrounded by about 4 or 5 lines of the bad swirly stuff, that you should maybe move him so your dps and healer don't have a hard time staying in range?

I need to check the website too - they push to curse as a courtesy, and it's not a real high priority for them, so it gets there, but a few days after the update happens. And the old version definitely got broken.

Besides that, everything that is critical to me was already updated by the time I logged on.

My only wish is that T-Bag's search function - which hits the inventory, bank, and mailbox on all my toons - could find things in void storage, but I don't think the API allows that.

I am not a heavy duty AH user but I do need my daily Auctioneer scans. Checked the developers website and the author noted that they are still working on the release version and will make it available as soon as they can. He also noted that the Beta/Preview version had most of the 4.3 fixes and should work but you might encounter some problems. I installed the Bete v5.13.5241 (11/30/11) and it worked for me. Don't seem to have problems with my other add-ons but don't really use a lot of them.

Kiting? Eh... who does that? When there are too many of the swirly things, just have the healer click the hourglass and watch as Blizzard kicks the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time reference into overdrive and rewinds time to before you were surrounded by swirly crap.

Well, the strat we were using was to use it to help reset our dps CD's. I think the charges probably got used up too quickly because when that happened we were out of the charges.

You have to use it for both. Blow cooldowns as soon as time rewinds, but don't rewind time until you have issues with too much bad stuff on the ground.

Edit: Every time I did that fight, we finish Nozdormu Murozond off with at least 2 hourglsses left. Maybe I just had good groups, though.

yeah its better to kite and give lots of wiggle room than to just sit there and die from standing in crap. sure you can reset but safer to give your party as much time as possible.

This kind of thing was being done before the Prince of Persia.
