We've all played RE3, am I right? =P

Look, when my Diablo 2 hardcore character died (in nightmare act 2, fanatic pally r op, yo) I was pretty unhappy. But nowhere near as bad as having to deal with 9 or 24 whiny, ******* unprepared and lazy "raiders" who don't give two craps about teamwork and are too busy to enchant their gear or farm buff food because they're constantly looking at loot tables.

(I'm not bitter!)

There is nothing in any game that I've ever played as purely soul-crushing as raid leading in WoW.
I've played plenty of games where I sat through horrible stories and worse characterization, in hopes that the last tenth of the game would tie it all together and redeem it in some way, and not only have they not, but I was rewarded with an excruciating ending that was worse than the hours of torture I had to endure to get there. That doesn't even count the ones where I get to the last boss believing the game barely half over.

Gohon is lolgaxe!!!

I miss the gold old FFXI ._.

Root canals with no anesthesia are more enjoyable than leading a 25 man raid in WoW.

You've never did sky/dynamis in FFXI have you. I spent a year or so trying to get 1 piece of equipment(Byakko Hydaite(sp?) and never got the drop, thats pulling teeth. 25 man WoW raids are a hassle, thats about it.

I'm not talking about trying to get things to drop. I'm talking about dealing with 24 other people to get them all to work together and actually do their job, and, especially dealing with the resulting drama and chaos as a result.

FFXI called that Dynamis.

Sky was 18 people, Dynamis was 36? The loot problem just compacted FFXIs problems.

Try raids of 72 and 54. Although EQ is now at 42 I think.

I don't think anyone's hating on your abilities. We just trust in the soul crushing power of guild recruits.

My favorite is when you beat someone into a decent raider then they leave to go play HKOLA.

Aww, I'm sad I missed this. It's hot when people tell me what to do. =x

The problem with raid leading is that I shouldn't be telling you what to do, you should know what to do.
Sadly, they never do.

Better than them telling you what to do, despite the fact they have no clue.

Well, some direction is nice. Like as far as strategy goes. I'm in three different raid groups. There are some fights in Firelands, where each group has a different strategy, so I kinda need to be told what to do. The overall gist of the fights though, yeah I've got that.

Sunday Slackers is the last vestige of that =) So you have had me tell you what to do!

Oh right. We just haven't done anything in slackers the last few weeks so I kinda forgot about it.

So yeah, when are we doing something again!? Smiley: wink2

Honestly I'm more than a bit burned out on the selfishness that so many players (yes, and guildies) have right now. Achievement runs used to be about everyone having a good time, team work, and comaraderie. For a while now though it seems the runs (both casual and progession) are more and more about what "I" get out of it or when "my loot" is dropping etc. People only show up when they want a drop or the achieve, not to help out their friends or just for the kicks. It's not uncommon to announce a Ulduar mount run, for example, to the sound of people whining "but I HAVE that already!!!"

Those are not the raids I want to lead.

I can't say I blame you. I do the slacker runs because they're fun. I'd show up regardless of what we're doing, as long as I'm available, but I'm sure you know that by now.

And yeah, listening to a certain individual complain all last Friday during our Firelands run about how his crossbow wasn't dropping was getting on my nerves. I like the guy a lot, but when we tease him about being a loot *****, it's really not teasing quite as much. =x

It's because of what you all have been saying the last couple posts, that was my reasoning for thinking a TTTT guild would be so amazing in WoW. Because you're all right. It's happens all too frequently that guilds have no sense in community in this game what so ever. It's all about what the individual wants, and more often than not it feels like there's individuals just taking advantage of the group for personal gain.

It didn't always used to be like that though. I'm just hoping I can bring it back.

I don't want to try and post here often with the aim of guild recruiting, but can I bounce some ideas off you guys? lol

So the last event we had was an all level 1 race, since not everyone in the guild has an 85 yet, and I wanted something everyone could participate in. Will still have the same situation with levels, so I'm trying to come up with more ideas.

Do you guys think having a level 1 "hide and go seek" would entertain people? I was thinking we could herd everyone to a smaller town, with maybe just a few buildings / reasonable perimeter, and yeah, play hide and seek. Split it in to rounds or what not, and give out 100g a round or something for the last person found. Would you all enjoy something like that, or is that just lame? Hahaha

A couple guildies like the idea, but I don't know if they're just being nice or not, and I'm sure I'll catch some honesty here.

Oh and yeah...thanks for the bumps. ;)

I'd like to say that I didn't intend to portray everyone in my guild as selfish asshats. Asshats sure, but not all of them are selfish twits.

Races and world games are a great, fun type of activity for guilds. The hide and seek sounds great.

Again, I applaud your gumption and the fact that you're trying to build a community. Wish I had the time to roll a toon to join in! Keep the ideas coming and best of luck =)
#98 Sep 27 2011 at 3:49 PM Rating: Good
I think that sounds fun! Just make sure one of the rules is that people must have Carbonite disabled. Too easy to cheat when you can see guildies on your world map. =x

But yeah, the vast majority of our guildies are really cool people. The specific individual I was talking about in my last post is a really fun guy, he's just a bit obsessed with loot. I think he does care about our guild though, and his different raid groups. I don't start getting obsessed with loot until there's a specific piece I want that never drops. Like Baleroc for example, he hates me. And it makes me angry. =x

If I'm going to roll a new toon it's going to be horde. Alliance be damned.

I miss Horde so bad. I've played Horde ever since release, up until this year, where I've started dabbling seriously with Alliance. Mostly because of this guild now, but god damn if I don't miss Orcs and the Forsaken.

Now I'm allied with Gnomes and Space Goats? -_-
