I've got my Warrior to 70, and I'm debating dropping the 4k gold for epic flying. On one hand it's not really necessary, as her professions are enchanting/inscription and there isn't much of a reason to leave town for that. On the other hand 4k isn't nearly what it used to be, and it would make it easier to do some leveling with archeology.

So are you buying artisan flying for all your characters these days? Or do you still pick and choose which characters get it?

Also, yes I've posted 3k times now. If you'd like you can mark this small milestone with one of the following generic responses:

Yay 3k!!!
pforu :4 (11.4%)
+1 :8 (22.9%)
I don't see my name anywhere:17 (48.6%)
post moar nub:6 (17.1%)
Total:35

I buy 280% flying for every character as soon as I can afford it. It just makes everything go faster.

All my level 70+ characters have 280% flying and I intend to buy it ASAP for any new 70s I have in the future. Absolutely worth every copper.

Buy it. None of my alts would be caught flying slow.

QFT

However, Master flying (310% speed) I absolutely pass on, unless that toon gets awarded What a Long, Strange Trip It's Been which I try to do on all my toons anyway.

Always had gold for this and never worried about it, just part of the game i guess.

I only buy the expensive flying for toons that I plan on raiding with.

But since I switch around so much, most of my guys have it now anyway.

I bought it for my Druid, Hunter and Shaman. Druid was a given since it's my main and I bought it on my Hunter and Shaman with the gold I made from leveling up. I don't remember the precise numbers anymore, but you make something like 3-4k gold just from quests, dungeons and selling quest rewards/vendor treash. And that's after you buy your level 80-85 spells and abilities.

My Druid doesn't count, since I got Swift Flight Form back when it wasn't just something you paid 10g at the trainer for, or whatever. Back when having the Raven Lord mount meant something, etc. Anyway, both my Shaman and Hunter went into Cataclysm content with literally no gold on them and came out the other end with epic flying.

Oh, and grats, nub.

280% flying is a must for all my characters, but I just make each one earn it on their own.

Anyone remember 60% flying?

Now a days I am a altaholic, I tend to think to myself "Will I keep this toon in the long term" before I spend the cash on epic flying. Sure I know I can easily make the cash back just questing to 85, but a lot of times I don't make it there.

150% dosen't seem so bad now when you had a 60% for months lol.

You should absolutely buy epic flying for your level 70 character. Particularly if you intend on levelling it to 85, the extra speed boost is nice and from 70-80 you will make the 4k back if you do any gathering professions - enchanting can be considered a gathering profession - if you want to level Archaeology it's worthwhile to have the speed bonus.

Option 3 and grats.

Anyway, I echo the "do it if you plan to get said character to 85" sentiment.

Quit being a baby and buy it!

I do it for all my toons past 70 anyways.

I'd do it. Also, I don't see my name, pforu, and +1. I cover all my bases. Smiley: grin

Now that we have clam stacking and increased stack sizes for potions ... you'd might as well cave in and buy it.

Blizzard gave back all the goodwill they earned from me with clam stacking when my keyring exploded all over my bags. Even stacking cut gems barely made up for that.

I've got it on my 4 over 70 characters, and will buy it for more of them as they get up there, the 150% just doesn't cut it regardless of gathering / nongathering professions. It just feels like chains keeping them from getting to the buckets for the cooking daily before the faster fliers hit it. Least I know of a couple out of the way buckets that they seem to avoid.

EEEW! Yes, why oh why did the keyring have to explode all over the bags? I had bag space, come back and find a bunch of stuff in the mail I didn't expect (coin and a couple keys) SO confused as to what happened then realized that was gone... guess that means we won't be needing keys to get into future dungeons?

Bought it.

I'm not sure if I'm going to 85 or not. I'm at least hitting 75 though so I can max out the professions. I'm hoping to do some archeology to bypass parts of Northrend I really don't want to see again, so it'll get used. Still got that typical sinking feeling I get after a large purchase. Guess I'll just have to make some more gylphs. Smiley: wink

I should go Inscription on my Druid... Alchemy is worth nothing on my server, anyway. Flasks sell for barely 30g.

There are few things that you can spend money on that actually last.

Flying speed last forever.

It's really a cost/benefit thing to me.

I'm not the type to ever drop 10k on gear.... But lets just say...

If I bought 4k worth of Mount speed - That will last forever.
If I bought 4k worth of gear - it will last Roughly 6 months. (At best)
