Blizzard's world is beautiful and even breath-taking at times. If you could have a home and let's just say a successful home business lol, where would you live? Pick 3 since it's so hard to choose 1.
Mine in no specific order:
1. Nagrand - Floating islands remind me of the kingdom of zeal in Crono Trigger. It's just nice.
2. Grizzly Hills - Redwood forests (I'm from California, so you know I love em), rivers, ocean coast, wildlife. I could do without the werewolves eating my sheep though.
3. Ashenvale (Pre-Cataclysm kill it with fire) Astranaar is so pretty. The purple and green and blue colors make it all that much better.

1. Darkshore - Wrapped in a fog-grey mist, I imagine it a positively quiet and calming place to live.
2. Nagrand - still one of the most beautiful zones, hands down.
3. Mulgore - I love the look of the green plains with the mountains all around.

Please "talk up" if your comprehension white-shifts. I will use simple-happy language-words to help you understand.
1. Stormwind - I like the medieval castle town vibe it has going on.
2. Duskwood - Not really sure why, but I like the creepy haunted atmosphere.
3. Sholazar Basin - Because it's just plain beautiful and full of wildlife and lush plants.

Preface this by saying that I have strange taste:
1) Hands down, pre-Cata Orgrimmar. The fishing pond was very peaceful, and lots of cool nooks and crannies throughout. Plus a nasty little dungeon in the basement if your kids won't go to bed...
2) Zangarmarsh. Mushrooms anyone? And family picnics with the Sporeggar.
3) Storm Peaks. I think the hiking would be outstanding...
Runner-up: Theramore. I always loved Scotland, and the town just had a Scottish coast feel to me...

2. Stormwind-- If I can't get magic, at least I can get a city with more modern conveniences than the rest.
3. Darnassus-- If there were no bugs, it would be first.
Silvermoon didn't make the cut. Nice with all the magic, less nice with all the red.
But if we are talking zones, not cities, then Hyjal, Silverwing Forest or Teldrassil/Ashenvale forest. Moonglade would make the list if it wasn't always shimmering with that weird silver glow.

As a mercenary I'm perfectly content with my rental in Stormwind. Once The war is over though I'm moving to Teldrassil and becoming a part time hunter and alchemy trainer.

I'd be constantly babbling about how nice it would be to be living in Howling Fjord. All while pissing and moaning about having to live in crowded Stormwind just becaust it has the portals that I need to go to work each day.

My heart lies in Dalaran, the city of mages. Magical conveniences or no, it's a beautiful town. Silvermoon would be a good second, however, assuming they'd put up with a human. Darnassus would be nice, however, for the simple protection from the giant fiery sky ball.
I'm assuming we're talking level-capped toons who can handle any level mob. That being said...
1. Very surprised that no one has mentioned the rugged beauty of Stranglethorn. I think having a house by the river in a warm climate with plenty of food waiting to be hunted and ruins to plunder would be great. Having easy access to a boat to Kalimdor just down the river, or a quick flight to Stormwind to hit any Cata zone, would be awesome.
2. I agree with Nagrand. Breathtaking and serene, much like STV. My problem would be the inability to get through the world easily with the Shatt portals being gone.

The same reason why no one chooses to live in jungles in the real world. The horrifying, poisonous creatures and, more importantly, the bugs. Specifically, mosquitoes.

I am pretty huge on the Outlands zones. I think that Nagrand is just amazing. Blades Edge Mountains would be some sweet rock climbing for sure, and Netherstorm would just be trippy.
1- Nagrand- Hands down tops. Remind me a lot of Avatar.
2- Sholazar Basin - everything about it seems nice and the vast amount of trees and creatures doesn't hurt either.

Yeah I definitely agree. STV is pretty don't get me wrong, but jungles are not a good place to call home if one can avoid it.
I'd definitely pick Dalaran as my first choice. The magic, the central hub of learning and knowledge. Just all around, I think it'd be an awesome place to live. Second runner up would be Darnassus. I may be a Hordie, but I do have a not so secret love for the Night Elves. I love their architecture, their culture, everything about them. If only all the other Alliance races didn't suck...

There's this little tent just outside the beginning area for the Alliance Blue Tentacle Rape Demons right before the next "townish" area for fishing, right on a lake. I'd kill that NPC and live there.

I completely agree with Orgrimmar. I run into that place on my mount and I could swear I can breath the hot air and smell the exotic spices. I could live there very happily, settle down with an orc woman and zug-zug like rabbits.
Second would be Uldum. I can't go passed all the ancient Egyptian style architecture and tombs.
Dun Morogh definitely has to make the list too. I love WoW's snow regions, I'd have Dwarven ale, Ironforge and - if I was crazy enough - I might even hear that zone's music in my head every day of my life.

Besides, I never saw any level 60 Bloodsucking Skeeters on my journeys through STV. I think Hemet killed them all.
It's gotta be Twilight Highlands for me. Those little villages, barely 6 houses each but huge barrels of beer. I'd love it.
You don't have to live in a jungle to get warm tropical weather. What I wouldn't give to be able to afford to live in San Diego again... I lived there for the first 6 years of my life and I miss it.

Mulgore- First toon was a Tauren and it always feels like home. That and it's really peaceful. A tent up in the hills along the cliffs would do nice
