T11 VP hotfixFollow

#1 Jul 18 2011 at 9:00 PM Rating: Good
Blue post

T11 raids will now give VP. 35 for 10N and 45 for 25N.

This is definitely a welcome change. JP is good for people who are still gearing up alts, but I think most people still running T11 would prefer the VP.

Despite my oft-disagreed upon opinions about the ease of VP and gearing, it stands to reason that if you can get VP from a 346 Heroic, you should be getting some for Raid content kills as well.

Then again, they made 358 content so easy it's almost sad.

Eh, they made it easier for sure. It's not a faceroll though. You still have to do the encounters properly and know what you're doing, or you will wipe. For reference, a few weeks back I did a BWD run with some guildies and some PuGs on my DK. We had a few wipes, and when we got to Nef we had to replace the tank after three wipes. He just didn't have the dodge/parry/health or whatever to tank the fight. After we replaced him with another guildie, we got the fight down in a couple tries. We had two or three people in that run who had never been to the raid before, and my sorry butt who had never raided on a melee toon before. Took me about 30 seconds to figure out what the frack I was supposed to do to chain Magmaw's head lol.

In comparison, this weekend I did all three raids in two different runs with my guild. The only wipe happened when someone accidentally pulled Al'akir before we were ready. There might have been one PuG in the group, I don't recall. It was mostly guildies though.

My point is, if you know what you're doing, the fights are a lot easier. Most of the challenge is gone, but not all. The people who were wiping on Magmaw and Halfus before 4.2 are still going to struggle, they're just going to progress faster now than they would have if the content hadn't been nerfed.

There was a GDKP run on my server last weekend for BoT and BWD, and the only bosses we wiped on were Nef (once), and Ascendant Council (once). We had at least a couple people that had never seen any of the fights before, but I think it was mostly alts.

Yeah, was thinking about selling some runs for gold on trade chat. If I get both tanks from the guild I could go and heal and sell runs with them in trade chat, I suppose.

GDKP is a little more involved than just selling runs, but seems to work out better. You get a nice mix of people that need no gear, 1 or two drops, or pretty much anything that's purplz.

I know how that works, but I dont know if my guild support that, actually. So...selling runs may be the only way to go for me. Will have to talk with them about that.

Yeah there's a GDKP run on the Alliance side on my server. It sounds like an interesting idea.

Just do what I'd do and edit the second one into a shameless +1.

Personally, I'd make a third post to apologize for the double post.
