Why would the tanks care if the mob is already dead? Smiley: tongue

Rage Building, would be my guess.

I'm pretty sure this wasn't in the patch notes but permanent pets now stay out when the Hunter/DK/Warlock/etc is mounted. If the player leaves the ground on a flying mount, the pet despawns but if they stay on a ground mount, the pet will be visible running alongside or behind the player. I'm guessing that this is to let the player keep pet-based buffs while mounted in battlegrounds as well as to reduce problems with the pet respawning with default (low) health and getting one-shot before the proper scaled health is applied.

OK, sometimes I have to let my inexperience and naivete shine through. What means "pad the DPS meters"?

It usually refers to actions you shouldn't take for the good of the group, but do so anyway because it makes your damage go (or appear) higher.

It also refers to actions that make no difference, but that you do for the same reason (like attacking critters, or dead bodies)

Plus its hard to build threat on the alive ones by attacking the dead ones.

Firelands dailies. I'm in P2 with my main. Everything alright with her.
BUT
I started with my second char today and from the introduction quests I got 16 marks (instead of the 8 I got with my main). WHhch means, I just have to do 1 set of dailies to get into phase 2, instead of 3.
Is this

a) Only for alts whose main already progressed further
b) an undocumented nerf to the dailies to make it easier to catch up to those who started earlier?

I wouldn't call it a nerf, just an adjustment. I did read posts elsewhere that they were adjusting this. There have been several hotfixes as they fine tune things. More should be coming with today's maintenance. I've been pleased with the rollout of this patch so far, and look forward to seeing more of the daily quest line.

My only issue is how heavily apparent the gating is. Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate the work that goes into creating a landscape that will change according to the order we do our dailies in. But 150 marks to progress to P3 for just 1/2 of the content seems absurd to me. Maybe others disagree. But it feels like being a tourney valiant all over again, without the satisfaction of slowly finishing each race.

By the time you get to the end, it's just ~5 days worth of dailies to get each new vendor. It's just the middle hump where you're getting 14 per day and need 150 that sucks. 5 days I think is reasonable for one phase, as long as there are enough dailies in the rotation that you aren't doing the same one every day. Molten Front doesn't change that much, though.

--heal dudes
--kill elementals
--plant seeds
--kill Monster of the Week (shifts)

On the other hand they're all in one place and easily done in concert, contrasted to the TB dailies.

Looks like companion pets are now properly despawning when you're on a flying mount rather than making it look like they were constantly coming out your hind-end when you're cruising around. It's being summoned back the moment you land. - animation and all. Took me a while to find out why my warrior was stomping the floor each time I dismounted.

Actually, everything's cool with me. The ONE thing I wish they'd change is livery flight (flying taxicabs). When you fly your own beast, you go in a straight line from place to place. But rent a gryphon, bat or whatever and it flies over every flightmaster between where you are and where you're going, even backtracking to get to some.

If you know Chicago, its like going from Rosemont Center to O'Hare Airport by way of Wrigley Field, McCormick Place, Joliet and Northern Indiana.

The flight paths were kept in the game for those of us who like to go AFK for some tobacco, or are too drunk to operate large, flying animals.

Some of them are a little humorous. Just last week my paladin was taking a flight path that went from Ironforge up to Light's Hope chapel in EPL, then down to Fuselight in the Badlands. Which is south of Ironforge for those of you keeping score at home.

Yeah...

Smiley: disappointed

Someprotein :P if that's the flightpath I think you need to go grab the flight point at the hunting camp / lodge in the SE corner of the Loch Modan map. Allows a much more direct route.

Edit because I fail at remembering a name long enough to post a reply with relevant info

Yes, don't worry I did. After clicking it in haste the first time I vowed never to do that again and ran over to loch modan to grab some connecting FPs. Smiley: grin

The same thing can happen in Dragonblight if you don't have the Wyrmrest FP. The flight master wanted to send me from Agmar's Hammer to Dalaran by way of Venomspite, New Agamand, and Vengance Landing.
