For example, towards the beginning the five sisters are at a ball together. Zombies randomly break through the windows and start slaughtering people left and right (graphically, I might add). The sisters get in their Pentacle of Death formation and pull swords out that were strapped to their legs, and start methodically decapitating zombies left and right.
Afterwards, it's never mentioned again, and the main sister and Mr. Darcy continue on with their hatelove thing.

Yeah... this may sound weird or hypocritical, but randomness like that doesn't belong in literature unless it has a specific purpose. I get that the authors are trying to make Austen appeal to a more "modern" audience or whatever, and I have to applaud them for that at least (although I don't want to). Randomness can be awesome in TV or a short video like what I posted, but it just doesn't belong in literature.
