A bit of a dilemma (was forum=22)Follow

Hello, making my first post here at Zam.
I just had a simple subject I needed some Wow player's opinions on, at that being as to whether I should start up WoW again or not. Back in Vanilla, was such a great time and I still did play after BC and a bit after WoTLK but quit soon afterwards. After playing nothing and checking out a few free MMOs, nothing really compares to p2p MMOs so I was thinking about starting back up on WoW. However, I was curious about what everyone else thinks about the upcoming cataclysm expansion. I personally experienced a huge downfall of quality in the gameplay after WoTLK due to the faction restrictions being pulled from the game, the the lack of 40 man raids etc and was thinking it could only get worse for someone with my tastes. However, being the person I am, I am open to opinions and thats why I am posting this. TL;DR - I'd like some opinions on whether I should start up playing again or not (would you be playing if you hadn't invested your time in it already?), or just find a different game.

Put in request to move.

First tip for Zam: Post in proper forums. If you want to know what WoW players think of the upcoming expansion, post in the WoW general forums.

I'm sorry, for some reason I didn't see that category. I'll try to refrain from this again in the future.

It's kind of hard to say whether you'd like an expansion that hasn't even moved to open beta testing yet. We honestly don't have any idea about the content or play-style changes and additions yet.

That said, I for one am looking forward to Cataclysm. I've been on hiatus since October, and will likely remain so until Cataclysm arrives. I'm keeping plenty busy with school and work.

From what I've seen, Cataclysm will be more of a refresh than a true expansion. The level cap's only going up by 5 levels, so I don't think we'll see as much high-level/end-game content as we've gotten with BC and WotLK. The entire 1-60 leveling experience is being revamped, which is what's got me excited. I've run through every starting area at least a half-dozen times each, and getting entirely new areas to level through will hook me back in for a couple months at least.

TL;DR edition- Wait 'til it comes out and try it for yourself. :)

I'd have to say that you're likely correct. It's only gonna get more open as they go along.

how did faction restrictions affect the quality of the game for you? I didn't notice any change at all really, aside from maybe a bigger pool of recruits.
