Finalizing Merchant BuybackFollow

#1 Nov 02 2009 at 8:38 PM Rating: Good
Hello Everyone:

When I sell back my items to the vendor and his cart is full, when there are 12 items in the buyback panel. How can I clear it out to add more items to sell back to him? For now I am exiting the game and logging back in. Is there a way to clear the slots to sell back more stuff without logging out?

You don't have to drag what you are selling to his buyback panel. You don't even need to look at that tab unless you are buying something back from him. Just right click what you want to sell in your bag.

what?

You can sell what ever you want to a NPC, as long as it sells.
They will than sell it back to you, if you missed clicked.

iirc, they "hold" these items until you log out. After that it is a done deal.

But what is it you are doing? Selling stuff to him, than buying it back? wtf for?

edit: post above mine. I see what he is doing i guess. Yea you can just Right Click what you want to sell and poof, it sells.

Buyback is if you accidentally sell something and want it back.

You can only retrieve 12 items, hence the 12 slots. Once they are all full and you sell something more, the first on the list will be removed so the new stuff can be there. As mentioned, logging out will clear the buyback panel, so if you accidentally sell something to a vendor, make sure you go fetch it right away.

As someone else mentioned, to sell stuff you just right-click it in your backpack. Not limit on the amount of stuff you can sell.

Read what I am getting ready to type very carefully...

To sell items...
goto a vendor...
click on him to open his wares...
make sure the vendor's window is open and right-click the items in your bag that you want to sell...
The items will disappear from your bag and you will get money from the vendor for selling the item...
If the items do not disappear when you right-click them then you either do not have the vendor window open, or the vendor will not buy that item...

ATTENTION!!!

Do not worry about the vendor's "backpack" being full because it isn't... it only shows so many items you sold to him in his backpack in case you accidently sold something to him that you want back...

LET ME REPEAT!

Do not worry about the vendor's "backpack" being full because it isn't... it only shows so many items you sold to him in his backpack in case you accidently sold something to him that you want back...

Profit!

...or not.

What are you trying to sell exactly? Looking past the other suggestions in the thread(if you have already grasped those solutions) maybe the item is un-vendorable. There are a lot of things vendors won't buy, mostly quest items but there are some others out there. If a message appears on your screen saying "Vendor does not want that item," then if you no longer want it you just gotta destroy it.

Smiley: nod Ahuh, the amount of times I've clicked through my bag to sell stuff to only find after the 30th click of my not concentrating it's not going anywhere. Yes, my middle name is fool, but there's a slight delay when you vendor stuff so you move onto the next item before it's cleared the last one. Smiley: lol

Well, if you'd been paying attention to those posts, you'd know that he just started playing.

Or you could, you know, read his signature.

A troll usually tries to incite arguments etc. Everyone so far in this thread has only replied with helpful answers.

Also I think it's worth saying I don't think english is this guy's first language.

Bah, responded via PM but maybe just maybe someone else would find it useful

you need to buy both of them back from the vendor, then you can shift-click the "Stack" of 2 in your bags, split the stack into 2 separate stacks of 1 item each and vendor the unwanted ONE item, leaving the second in your bag.

You MUST split the stack in your bags first.

Yes, just open the buyback pane and right-click the item you wish to buy back.

Logging out (maybe even changing zone (dungeon, continent, etc.) will clear the buyback slots, though, so you'll want to do it right away.

Edit after Gwen: Oh, it was a stack, I missed that. Yeah, if you sold a stack of stuff, you have to buy the entire stack back, split it and sell the stuff you don't want to keep.
