Returning, starting fresh.Follow

#1 Apr 18 2010 at 1:45 AM Rating: Decent
I'm a returning player (I used to play a few years back) and I want to start a new character to experience more of the game. I like a server with more people than less. However, I don't want to be on a server where most of the people are all end game raiders. I'd like to be able to quest with people as I progress through the game as well, but I would rather have more people than less. Could anyone recommend a server? I guess I'm looking for a good mix of levels, and the more people the better.

Additionally, with expansions being released and whatnot, are there any classes to completely avoid? I understand it's player preference, but I just wanted some opinion on the matter. Thanks.

I'd say check out Antonia Bayle. It's the most populated which will give you a greater chance to see people in more level ranges. It is also the roleplaying preferred server.

I really don't believe that there's any classes to completely avoid. Truly any class can be potent once you learn the ropes. Smiley: smile

edit: Oh my, I forgot to say... Welcome back! Smiley: yippee

The best way to find a server with a good population: Roll a character during what will be your normal regular playtime. When you get to the server select screen, pick one with a high load (watch out for special servers, like PvP and the Bazaar, unless that's what you're looking for).

I created my first ever EQ2 character just last week. I rolled into Antonia Bayle because I like high populations for crafting/moneymaking reasons. I will tell you though that it is sometimes difficult to get questions answered in-game because the most popular channels are always full during peak hours, which is when I play. However, things do sell very quickly on the auction house (until people undercut items TO THE GROUND, BABY (tm)). Starting at level 20 though, there's at least a half dozen people LFG for every level range from 20-85, which is nice.

Despite being so populous, however, our top guild isn't even in the top 10 for most progressed guilds in the game. We do appear to have the most raiding guilds of any server though, so to me this seems like a "something for everyone" kind of server.

Thank you for all the input. I'm just getting into finals week here (only two and a half more weeks!) and I'll be making a character then, but I wanted to do the research in advance. I'll more than likely be headed to Antonia Bayle. Maybe I'll see you around! Thanks again!

That's so weird... I think I've rolled up a toon on just about every server EXCEPT AB and LDL. I don't know why really, I just never went there!

Even I have a toon on AB...not that I ever play her. I have too much fun as it is though keeping Cyliena busy in tells on Everfrost.

Things I sometimes play...

"What do you want to be when you grow up?"
"I want to be a unicorn!"
"Awww, why's that?"........
"So I can stab people with my face."

Hit the crafting channel for QA, we're nice!
