I tried FFXI but just couldn't get into it, then I went to WOW, and WOW is ok but I just want a less cartoon looking fantasy game, and from what ive seen EQ 2 could be that...I guess my question is, at this point is it possible for someone new to jump on and not be completely lost? whats this like (the only EQ I had any experience with was EQ online adventures for ps2).

You can certainly jump right in and not be lost. You could even post on the Official forums for a Recruit-a-Friend hookup and get some free stuff to help you along :)

I don't know how to describe what it's like. I've never played FF in any form, and like you couldn't get past the cartoons on WoW. I think it supports all playstyles well, and it's a lot of fun.
