Good Morning ZAM! Weekend Edition 8/16/2009Follow

Been a busy/relaxing weekend for me. Almost no gametime with the exception of some mindless tradeskill grinding late last night.

Spent yesterday at the Milford Oyster Festival here in Connecticut. Have to say, it was actually better than my expectations. As a small town little fair, it was bigger than the county fairs in the midwest towns I grew up in. The food was very limited however. But, that was a good thing. Lots of East Coast seafood like Lobster rolls, Clams, Oysters on the half shell, etc. All of which complimented the over priced beer nicely! ;)

Been a while since me and my better half had gotten out of the house and spent any considerable amount of time outside in the sunshine. She burned, I tanned.. both got heat exhausted and are sore and achy this morning. So, I'll spend my Sunday getting caught up on Comments and EQ2 wiki edits. GU 53 is hitting the test server in a couple of weeks, so ideally I'd like to wrap up all of the little projects I've started prior to that so I can concentrate on getting in game on Test with my collegues and getting as much info ready as possible before GU 53 hits the live servers.

What's everybody else been up to this weekend? Seems like the weather has been pretty nice all over the states. So, I hope a lot of you got out and enjoyed it a little bit. :)

A friend of mine sent me a link on how to 'soft mod' my Wii awhile ago. I've been reading over it for the last week or so just to make sure I understood the instructions.

Yesterday I went and finally tried it out. It worked flawlessly, so I spent the better part of my weekend downloading roms and other brew apps. Final Fantasy 3 (5), Legend of Zelda, Super Mario, Super Metroid, etc... as well as a bunch of my past favorite SNES games (plus some 'new to me' ones). Some of the apps are pointless, like turning my tv into a strobe light...but the capability is there now to get some interesting programs.

It's also nice that my Wii can finally function as a dvd player. What gets me is that it had the functionality in the first place and Nintendo just didnt put in the software for it.

Things I sometimes play...

"What do you want to be when you grow up?"
"I want to be a unicorn!"
"Awww, why's that?"........
"So I can stab people with my face."

I finally managed to play the game for a couple of hours on a row!

Got a new AA, only at 155 so far but the expansion is still long away, time enough to get the rest.

I'm still trying to clear my questjournal of all quests grey, I'm getting there one by one. I only recently even finished a quest I started in early 2006! Some of the older quests are quite boring though, having to kill 80 of one mob that spawns irregularly is quite maddening.

Our ISP is having network issues they won't acknowledge. Just about the time our kids are in bed and we can sit down and play the throughput drops so bad you can't load the simplest webpage. *sigh*

Yikes.. seems to be an ongoing problem, Cal. Sorry to hear that. I'm curious though.. how is your Free Realms performance vs. your EQ2 performance. Being as its a buffered game, I'm sure the buffering becomes slower, but does it effect your framerate after buffering?

Haven't even bothered to try either one, when my throughput is crawling along between 0.06 and 1.86Mbps. It's just an exercise in frustration.

I have the same problem with my quest journal. It's filled up with gray quests. Ones I've picked up along the way and never bothered to complete.
