Good morning ZAM! - 6/9/09 Follow

Didn't play much EQ2 yesterday or over the weekend for that matter. Currently got my nose buried in all the great new rewards and house items that will be available during the upcoming Live Events which is on Test right now. :) If you haven't been reading about them on the official forums or eq2traders you're in for quite a surprise. Alost 100 new items, mostly house items with status reduction! Woo Hoo!!

I did manage to harvest a bit on both Venekor and AB before going to bed. And I tradeskilled a couple of levels on my Jeweler on AB and my Woodworker on Venekor as well. Wasn't really putting my heart in to it though as I was flipping back and forth between the game and the ZAM wiki every 5 minutes.

Rough weekend though. Quit using Prylosec cold turkey and my stomach did NOT like that one bit. But, I was getting some pretty serious side effects from using it such as intestinal bleeding and depression. So, now I'm on the new Tums Dual Action which is basically the same as Pepcid AC. Not as good as Prylosec.. it really just makes the pain bearable vs. disappear all together.. but no side effects.

Still getting ready for Fan Faire. Don't have as much to do as my friend Rijacki though. Wait til you see the costume she's putting together! Not going to spoil the surprise though. But, you shouldn't be able to miss her in the crowd. ;)

Basically washing and ironing clothes and setting them aside to be packed. Cleaned up the laptop so there's plenty of room for all the pictures I plan to take at Fan Faire and upload to ZAM every day. Girlfriend has a REALLY nice camera that I still need to sit down and learn to use. Its more complicated than my computer and almost as heavy. XD

What's everyone else been up to? Raining like a ***** here today in the north east. I swear I saw a car wash by the house this morning! ;)

Spent my gaming time on Test this weekend, lol. One thing about working two game sites, each games serves as a break from the other!

We got our suitcases out for Fan Faire. See, we're taking the kids to Grandma's 360 miles away, and we need to make sure that all our stuff + golf clubs will fit in the car. We need SOMEONE to pick a place to golf, 'cause we're serisouly entertaining the possibility of hubby renting clubs, depending on how much Alaska Airlines charges to check 'em.

My panic moment was realizing that on our short turn around at Grandma's we have to remember to leave the car seats. DOH.

This weekend was all about rock n roll for me. I have a few friends from grade and high school who's band played Friday night so I went up for the weekend to lounge around and do as little as I possibly could while enjoying myself to some nice loud rock.

One absolutely classic spot to play is the golf course that used to belong to the Desert Inn. The property is now owned by Steve Winn (there are two beautiful casino/hotels on the property) but he promised when he bought it that the golf course would always be there.

And as a bonus, both the Las Vegas Mall and the mall at Caesars Palace are both within walking distance...

You don't happen to remember the name of the course do you? All the courses I've found are a 20 minute drive.. but they could be accounting for traffic in that estimate.

I would have thought it would still be called the Desert Inn Country Club but I looked it up and the only info I could find says it was closed back in 2001. There is a chunk of property on the map that is in the right location and is listed as "Winn Golf Course" but I can't find any details about it so it may not be open to the public.

You should check out LasVegasGolf.com and look at their area map:

http://www.lasvegasgolf.com/courses/lasvegas/map.htm

On it I can see two courses really close to the strip -

Las Vegas Country Club
Las Vegas National Golf Club

Both of these seem less than 20 minutes from the strip (to my eye) and although not as close as the old DI (Desert Inn) one or the other should fill the bill.

Hope that helps... Good luck! :-)
