Question about BotsFollow

#1 May 28 2009 at 8:38 PM Rating: Decent
I am thinking about getting into EQ2 again. However, I would like someone to be honest about how many bots run around in this game. One of the things I hate about MMOs nowadays is how many of them are ruined by botting. Please give me an honest answer to this question.

Thanks in advance.

I don't see that many, honestly. And SOE's done a great job of shutting down the plat-selling spam.

I can say that the spam filter has caught every RMT tell that I would have gotten in any other game. I accuse every person I see harvesting in the same zone as me a bot but thats just because I'm greedy. They probably think I'm a bot.

Things I sometimes play...

"What do you want to be when you grow up?"
"I want to be a unicorn!"
"Awww, why's that?"........
"So I can stab people with my face."

Out in Norrath there is not so many bots running around anymore, lots of farmers, but no bots..

In tradeskill instances I think there are still lots of em, but they do no harm anyone when standign there..
Overall I'd say its been a pretty "safe" game to play for some time now on that department..

Not a bot, no... your actions are way to erratic... they probably think you're a tad neurotic though... if that makes you feel any better about it...

Seriously, I don;t think I've seen a single bot in years... they used to be common way back when we had crafting sub-combines... but that's because the bots could be used for harvesting and also to craft the subs that sold for a ton of cash (like all the chemicals). Also, since gold is pretty easy to come by at the higher levels, most of the gold sellers have moved on to other games where the players will actually buy gold.

I got /tell spammed a couple of times last night for the first time in months and months. I was so amazed I actually read the messages!

SOE has done a great job cleaning up the trash so far.

Thanks for the replies guys. I don't mind the text that asks me to buy gold, as much as I do actual bots running around the game. Those gold spammers are real easy to report, but the bots are harder.
