Good Morning Allak's! - April 13 EditionFollow

Good morning ZAM!

Hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend. Don't really practice any particular religion myself, so yesterday was Happy Master's Day for me. :) We had a huge ham dinner with all the trimmings which I'm still digesting this morning. *burp* 'scuse me! ;)

Didn't get much done in EQ2 this weekend. Been working on a project with Cal, Kain and Raven which I'm not sure whether we can talk about or not yet. I did start another beta and toyed around in it for a few hours to keep the ZAM logo from burning an image in my screen permanently. XD

Committed Financial Suicide on Friday and quit my full time job. It was a decision both my girlfriend and I made so that I'd have more time to spend on ZAM and various other projects we have been procrastinating on for several months. I'm still going to work, but its likely to be something a little more laid back. Probably go back to giving golf lessons or organizing tournaments again. Short hours and good pay. And makes good use of my poor pro card which has been neglected for quite a few years. :)

Good luck with that career move, pal. I've been contemplating a complete flip in what I do, recently. Time will tell if I have the stones to do it.

I actually logged in this weekend, but managed to not do anything of substance. Low grouping opportunities on holiday weekends I guess. Went LFG on my SK, coercer and defiler and got no love on any of them.

Kids got sick on Sunday so Easter dinner is postponed to tonight. :D Looking forward to a nice dinner of venison, asparagus and mashed potatoes when I get home.

I did some writs, although not many as I was out looking for a new appartment. I was able to finish the heritage quest eye of power, that only took me four years to do so it's not that bad I suppose.

To be honest.. I didn't have the stones to do it. I was actually getting ready to go back to work Friday morning when my girlfriend marched in to the room and said, "You better be getting dressed for church. Cause, you don't need to be dressed nice to email your resignation". XD

Not so much in those words.. but, she was very supportive and understood just how stressful it was for me to be juggling all this other stuff on top of a full time job. Most importantly, my health was suffering from it and that was what cinched it for her.

The IT industry is extremely stressful, as I'm sure you can attest to, Stug, these days when budgets are low. When the money is streaming in, it can be the best industry to be in. During a recession you flinch every time a kid walks through the door fresh out of DeVry with his certifications and absolutely no experience. :P

Spent the weekend working on that project with Spyder and the gang. No, we're not saying anything about it, just trying to crank your curiosity up! It means that I'm spending less time in the live game than I'd like. As usual!

Had a good weekend, the Easter Baskets were a hit and I found a new recipe, lol.

ummmm..........I can't remember too much of what I did. I know I did a bunch on my guardian/woodworker (he's now 76 and even has his Master Woodworker certification), and did some stuff on my SK, and did some other stuff. mostly I've just been putssing around. trying to get my guardian to 80 to give me another 10% bonus xp to my alts. I know on my SK is up to the heroic parts of his epic weapon quest. he's also knocked out a few more quests in Jarsath Wastes, including finishing up the Danak Shipyards questline getting his faction to +50k. 2 more factions (Skelross and Sel'Nok) and I can start working on that cool hammer quest line (*cheers*). not too much else going on right now so just taking it easy.

I logged in to the game off and on all weekend - an hour here and an hour there - and spent my time tooling around Antonica on both the new warden and the new fury. my warden is up to lvl 20 now and the fury is hot on his heels at 19. They are each lvl 20 or 21 in crafting.

I'm amazed at now much I'm enjoying going through all the T1/T2 content in spite of the fact that I've been through it so many times before! I guess there is a lot to be said for familiarity! The process is nicely streamlined when you know exactly where to go to complete quests and where all the needed mobs can be found.

In any case, I'm having a ball and with T-Steppes in sight, the game is starting to get really interesting again!

I *was* going to take my level 59 SK into Lavastorm for a look-see, until a guildie wanted me to make up a smithy hammer for their crafting epic. It's much more 'epic' now that every city is no longer full of crafters.

Anyway, I dug my Defiler/Armourer out, made the item & ended up adventuring. He's gained about 3 or 4 levels over the last week and is only 2 or 3 off wearing the Deathfist umbrae blood mail set (made on the actual DF forge, not these cheap imitation red shiny ones!). Actually, the EL & Zek red shiny collections gave me over 100% adventure xp when I handed them in together!

I'm having fun with my defiler, so I think I'll level him up into his new armour set, then start work on the T5 Gathering Obsession quest. It's so much more fun knowing that any aggro = instant death!
