Permafrost - population?Follow

Hello all,

My wife and I are considering coming back to EQ2 and are curious how the population on the Permafrost server is doing these days. Is it worth trying to restart our accounts on that server or should we create new characters on another server?

If a new server would be the best option, which server?

Any info would be appreciated. Would have posted on the EQ2 OB's, but it seems I can't make threads without having an active account.

I have tried 5 US servers and the Japanese server Sebilis. If I could recommend a US one for you, I'd say that Unrest had quite a good population. Guk was pretty slow, and I haven't tried Permafrost.

Unless you are going to go for AB ... I see that one is "heavy" a lot.

What I'd do is roll a new toon during what will be your normal playing time (you wont have to actually finish the process). When you do you'll see a server list, with population markers. See what's active during
    your
prime time.

So it looks like almost all NA servers were medium build of population. There was a few lowbies roaming around the draconian(can't recall the races name) area.

So... I have some characters already on Permafrost. Don't know if it would be worth starting those characters back up when we could start over from scratch. One of the questionable things both my wife and I are unsure of is if the limited items you get(plants, robots, house birds, ect) that come from the boxed EQ2 version are refreshed when you go to a new server, or if it is account wide.

Anyone have any knowledge about that?

Once again, thanks in advance.

The month and yearly rewards are for all your characters that you will create. Some of them have a limit of 12 like a cape that I have noticed. Or 20 Cakes and 20 Vodka only. The only things that aren't available to you if you decide not to play your old toons are things like the collector edition dragon. When you turn your account on, /claim and see which items are limited. It will tell you right next to it like "One Per Character" or "Limit 1".

I'm not sure how long that you have been gone for, but if it has been a while I would definately recommend restarting this time around. There are newer areas for lower levels that are quite interesting to explore. I wouldn't delete your old characters incase you decide you don't like to be a lowbie all over again though.. Well personally I would.. I have deleted 3 in the 70-75 range in the last few months but I don't recommend it. I just have a problem. Lol.

Things like explanation premiums, or those baby dragons, are one per account ever.

If you're not sure, fire up one of those old toons and look in the /claim window, it'll tell you.

Thanks for the updates. I've been gone from the game for roughly a year now. The WAR beta took alot of my time, and I stuck it out for a while, but both my wife and myself are more quest based players rather then PvP based so EQ2 PvE called us back.

Most likely we'll be trying to get the TSO box sets this Thursday, due to the mount you get.
