You sell them to the factions (guilds) in your city. If you have a guild hall merchant, they'll also take them. You'll know you have the right one because the sell price will also list status points.

Let's see if I can remember them all:
Documents go to Scouts
Scrying Stones go to the Mages
Amulets go to the Priests
Relics go to the Warriors

Exactly where depends on your city, but in Freeport and Qeynos they're in the same area as the city writ NPC for that faction.

As Calthine noted, you'll find the buyers in the same general location as the writ givers so in Qeynos, the scout guy can be found in the tree house while the mage guy is in the mage tower (SQ), the guards guy is on the steps to the castle (NQ) and the priest is near the space ship (NQ).

This is why I like Neriak, All status items get sold to one single npc in the whole zone. None of this running around selling the right items to the right person.

That's it, I'm getting of my half-elven hiney and making a guide. Y'all could help - I've got status loot merchant info for Qeynos and Freeport, but nowhere else. Please post (or link) the NPC's who buy status loot - what city they're in, where they're at, what guild they're with, if appropriate. I need Neriak, Kelethin, and Gorowyn.

that's not a problem. I can do all those in the course of 1 hr. How would you like me to send you the information?

UPDATE: as of 12:15PM Central time, I have the names and location coordinates for the NPCs that buy the status items in Kelethin, Gorowyn, and Neriak. Let me know how you want me to convey this information to you.

to answer your question now, T'Roveus M'Otal. he is at -105, 8, 320.12 (dockside markets quarter, near the tradeskill area, in the same building as the guild registrar and city merchants.)

some minor fixes needed in the table, but I can work on that when I get in in the morning (shhh. Don't tell them I'm supposed to be working right now.). Other than that, looks good so far. If you want more help with this, just let me know.

Don't touch it yet, please :) I'm not done. For example, I haven't gone in game and verified the guild level.

edit: Everyone keeps telling me the guild level is at the x5's now. Hang in there :) I'll take all the item codes in game before I take that work in progress notice off :)

yes, the guild level restrictions are x5's. i.e. the blackened iron relics (and similar tier items) are only good for guilds below 15. the T2 (or is it T3?) stuff (the jasper, steel, etc) is for <25. and so on and so forth.

that really was the only thing that I saw that needed to be changed thus far. so far looks good.

EDIT: just an FYI, in Qeynos and Freeport, any of the writ givers in the different factions will buy back the reverse writ items for status. but it must be a writ giver that you sell them to (turn them in to?)

Pics or it isn't true! According to SOE, you can't buy back status items because of the potential exploit. And my experience coroborates that. (I'll check!)

I'm down to adding mobs we didn't have (they're redlinked atm) and hand-verifying those levels (and getting new screenies for the items if needed). Fact-checking FTW!

edit: AND make a template to auto-categorize all those...

You can only buy them back if you sell them to a regular merchant (non-status). It's possible that they changed it for if you sell them to a wrong merchant (i.e. sell a mage status item to a fighter status merchant), but I can't say for sure.

ok, clarification time (sorry I confused you).

you cannot buy back the reverse writ items if you sold them for status. If you sold them for coin only (a regular merchant), then yes you can. what I was referring to was selling the items for status and who will buy them. In Qeynos and Freeport, any of the writ givers will buy your reverse writ items (you can sell the items to any of the writ givers of that faction for status). so, for example, if you have a bunch of blackened iron relics, and you are in Qeynos, you can go to any of the writ givers for the Qeynos Guard faction and they will buy (you can sell to them) your blackened iron relics and give you status for them.

ok, I hope to god, I didn't confuse you anymore, but, please, if I did, send me a message here, or in game (I'll be in game for most of the night).

Nope, I getcha, and I was just thinking about adding a clarification to that. I'm going to include a screenies of what it looks like in the sell window with the right merchant to avoid confusion.

edit: Added it to the paragraph on selling. Check to make sure I made sense :)

Have I mentioned you guys rock? I'm not sure I've ever done a collaborative guide here, this is pretty cool :)

Okay. Template made (all status loot will point you to the guide). Facts checked, x5 level confirmed. Obsolete screenies deleted and new ones in my queue.

Only think I can think of that might be missing are any oddball loot-buyers.

Feedback?

COOLIES!! looks great, Cal. I couldn't find any glaring errors. I'm sure there are some really really REALLY small and minor ones that will probably be noticed as people actually use the guide for information, but nothing actually stood out as wrong to me. *two thumbs up* Good Job!
