I enjoyed playing EQ & EQII when I had a PC. But now have switched completely to MAcs. Is EQ or II available for macs?

Everquest does have a MAC client that allows you to play and connect to Mac-only servers. You can find more information and download the trial at http://eqmac.station.sony.com/.

Everquest II does not have an official Mac client.

If you have a robust enough Mac.. eg. at least 20% more RAM than was shipped with it, and the latest version Mac OS you can use one of two most popular Windows Emulators (which are really just dual boot systems) and run EQ2. It's not guaranteed to work, especially on Mac notebooks. However, I know a few people who have no problems running EQ2 this way. The draw back is that you need to run the performance at best at Balanced mode. Because, regardless if its a dual boot emulator or not.. the Mac OS is still running in the background.

The second option is to do what 90% of other Mac users have done and boot up the old PC and accept that one must decide between running a Mac only home/business or diverse computer environment. ;)

Or even better than emulation - if you have an Intel-based Mac and OS X 10.5 (Leopard), you can use Boot Camp to dual boot to a Windows partition and play there.

That's how I played EQ2 on my Mac Pro

Don't throw good money after bad. You bought a Mac but you can learn from the experience and the next time you are looking for a new computer you can buy one that will actually run the applications you want to use instead of buying the one with the pretty lights and the shiny case.

In the mean time, regarding adapting the mac to run a PC application,
I'm reminded of something my father used to say...

Never try to teach a pig to sing... it's a waste of your time and it just pisses the pig off.

You guys can be snarky all you want, but the intel-based Mac is the best Windows machine I've ever had. All the drivers are certified and has nary a hiccup.

Plus I can run all my OS X applications on the Mac side, then boot over to Windows for gaming.

Best of both worlds.

That just means you must have owned some crap-tastic computers!

Seriously, 7% of home computer owners can't be wrong... oh wait... yes they can!
