Personally, the excitement rating is maybe 4 out of 10. Maybe I am just having a case of the Blue Mondays but I am really struggling with the thought of purchasing the latest expansion... I get all the information from SoE's own website. You would have thought with 3 days to go until release that there may be some better info.

What are you thoughts?

Probably what I am most interested in are the LDON type dungeons. They were a blast for the first few months when they were unravled in EQ1.

20 new zones - Of mostly grayed out content. Yes, I know. Start an alt.

Heritage quests - Meh. Unigue rewards is intriguing a bit but we will see..

Achievement quests - As a pally - Boring... Unless they radically change our tree structure I can't say I am all that excited over a few more AA's.

Void Shards - WoW has something very similiar to this - Badge of Justices. Not a bad idea. It's basically for groups who go after harder mobs.

Two new Deities - Really, despite some high-end raiding have the deities really added anything interesting to the game?

Legends of Norrath - an online card game. Big deal.

I was the same way with Faydawr. Just not too exciting. Guess I like the leveling expansions where they introduce some new levels and gear.

I'll still buy it. Don't get me wrong.

Wonder if they will have some new crafting recipes?

Where are you getting this? The overland zone starts at 76; the instances scale. And while they're being compared to LDoN, let me tell you, I've done LDoN and seen these and the comparison stops at "Instanced zones you can run over and over again". On the beta tour we were all level 80 and I never saw a greyed out mob. 'Matter of fact, we got our asses handed to us a couple times.

The shards are like (it's been a while) the points you get for LDoN, but you get gear with 'em.

There are some new crafting goodies, recipe wise :)

I think raising the level cap right now would have been a mistake; but a "lateral" expansion can be interesting. As your Zam team farms Beta infoz I'm personally finding Moors of Ykesha a lot of fun!

It was an uneducated guess and an assumption on my part. I figured that there were going to be some lower tiers to satisify the less experienced characters. Running through Butcherblock at level 70 was not that most exciting thing in the world.

I am looking forward to but only marginally.

I'll restart my sub but only with the intent of poking around for long enough to see what's what.

A few months and then I'm probably gone again. :(

I must admit, if there were another ten levels coming I would be more interested.

I /was/ looking forward to it. Then my bank account decided to trip over itself and fall down the stairs. Now, not so much.

This is an expansion where...I don't know. Sounds odd but I'm almost thinking it's too much. I try to get excited for it, but then I look at all the content, all the new stuff..then I think about the time I have and I just get overwhelmed and see myself falling farther and farther behind the rest of the server. Maybe I just need to forget the expansion exists, at least until after Xmas when I can get it.

In all honesty Ive kept myself fairly uninterested in the new expansion only so I can be more surprised when it is released. Hubby has been in beta for ages so he knows it well. But I feel like if I learn too much of it now the excitement wont last as long, know what I mean? I desperately am ready for something new though. Im not overly fond of what I heard about the new AA trees for dirges, but I can deal.

QFE!! Working Beta for Zam always burns me on an expansion a bit.

The zones scale, according to the zone they're connected to. most are 50-80. Nope, no new newb stuff this time.

Does anyone know what the min number of people you will need in a group to be able to do the new zones
#10 Nov 11 2008 at 2:22 AM Rating: Good
New zones should be open to solo players, duos, small groups and full 6 character groups.

Any flavor you like should work just fine!

I'm gonna skip this one.

After a l-o-n-g time playing the game, I've finally had enough of the constant patches, updates, downtime and in-game lag. They are just intruding too much into my game play. I may be back one day, but dunno atm. LOTRO on pre-order...
#12 Nov 11 2008 at 7:51 AM Rating: Excellent
I've ordered 12 copies so far. Of course, only two are for myself and the GF.. the rest are for some fellow players overseas who can't pre-order yet.

Exploring the beta content is sort of bitter sweet for me. Its content I won't see on the live servers for many months as I tend to level rather slowly and still haven't seen level 80 on any of my toons after 3 years. ;)

Fun stuff so far though!

Sounds like burnout. It happens. Enjoy your time with LOTRO and we look forward to welcoming you back after some R&R.

Yeah, burnout happens. And I see folks who aren't jazzed about the expansion, but I'm betting when the live reviews start coming in they'll take a look :)

I'll get it naturally and I hope to have some fun time with my monk. But it's not really as exciting to me as the previous two expansions have been. It could be the fact that I only just began playing again after four months or so, or perhaps I'll enjoy this expansion even more than the previous ones.

I'll have to see if I can still pre-order it actually, never checked into it before.
