How noticeable was the XP change? Thinking of playing again.Follow

#1 Nov 04 2008 at 5:03 PM Rating: Decent
I have played EQ2 multiple times, each time stopping at level 20-25, not just because of the grind but because I didn't like most the classes I chose. I was thinking of trying the game again and I heard they sped up xp. How noticeable is the change? I heard some people say its too easy, but whats too easy to one person might not be that easy to someone else.
I am a casual MMO player, I have about 20 hours a week to play an MMO at the MOST.

A couple friends of mine are wanting to play also, and they're both wondering how much the exp has changed.

lol, 20 hours a week isn't very casual :)

The answer is probably subjective.

I say 20 hours a week is casual. Because I said at MOST. On weekends I get to play a lot. During the week I don't.
10-12 of those hours probably come from the weekend.

Can anyone tell me the hours per level? (Not every level, but a level range)

It really varies depending on playstyle. For example, the toon I rolled three days after launch (my main) is only 76 :) I saw someone go to 80 in less than 6 months.

I'm not trying to evade your question, really! There's just so much content, and all playstyles (solo, group, crafter, raiding) are supported quite well, so there's no "You can be 80 in x hours)" answer.

For me it would be about .005 levels per hour. I've played for 3 years and my highest level character is level 60.

Don't try to dissect it and just play. ;)

1-60 in under 6 days /played, so if you get in 12 hours a week then you are looking at 3 months to lvl 60 without breaking sweat depending on class and tradeskill obsession.

I did Darklight woods > Nek forrest > EL and Zek > Everfrost > Sinking sands > Tenebous. with brief touches into Commonlands/TS/Crushbone/Lesser fay.

Thats using about 50% of the possible content at most so i would imagine you could run two toons at the same time, never do a single quest that the other toon did and still reach 60 in 3 months with both.

I did buy alot of the collection pieces I missed from the zones I was doing and a couple of the cheep higher level ones.
