I was wondering, and yes I am new, what is the level cap on non class skills? As in if I were to subclass in alchemy would I still be able to scribe my wizard spells at level 80? And even if I subclass and want to raise Provisioner skill up to make better food and drink or make bags through tailoring would I be able to?

None of your questions make sense in the EQ2 world, lol. What game did you come from, sounds like maybe EQ?

In EQ2 there are nine primary tradeskill professions and two secondaries (Tinkering and Transmuting). None of them have anything to do with your adventure class.

You can have one primary profession and one secondary profession, that's it.

Yes I did come from EQ1. ;) along time ago .... and sorry about being confusing. What I mean is if I specialize in alchemy will I never be able to do anything else? I know I can use my past skills but once I specialize will I be able to use them to make better things in a different field? (example - I specialize in alchemy will I never be able to scribe my spells later on or make food instead of buying it)(will I be able to do anything else besides alchemy)

I think I'm hanging up on the word "scribe", lol.

Short answer:
You may only have one primary profession. If you're an alchemist, you can't make food. If you're a provisioner, you can't make spells.

Long answer:

And that's not 100% accurate, because of the class trees. Up to level 9 you are an "Artisan". You will forever be able to make all recipes for all classes up through level 9 recipes.

After that you must choose your class: Scribe, Craftsman, or Outfitter. You will forever be able to make all the recipes for that class through level 19 recipes.

After that you much choose your final profession. Scribes become Sages, Alchemists, or Jewelers. Craftsmen become Woodworkers, Provisioners, or Carpenters. Outfitters become ARmorers, Weaponsmiths, or Tailors. You will forever only be able to make recipes level 20 and higher for your chosen class.

If you eventually decide that you hate your class, you can change it - if you want to go all the way back to level 9.

Um. Clear as mud?
