I'm trying to buy a 2 room in an Inn for 14g. No big deal. It says I don't have enough guild status to buy it. How much guild status do you need? I have 557 guild status and my guild is level 61. The sell screen says I have to be level 10 in my guild. What does that mean in terms of status points? I'm confused.

Well, normally an appartment will require gold (or more), personal status points and often also belonging to a guild of a certain level. Guild status you contributed shouldn't matter. It could be that you try to purchase an appartment with a character that is below lvl 10, but judging from the fact you have the 14g and 557 guild status, I think you're above lvl 10. I think the lvl 10 you see on the sell screen is the level of guild you have to be in before you can buy it.

It is possible that you are trying to buy an appartment that requires more than the amount of personal status that you have at the moment. The fastest way to gain personal status is to sell all the items you find at the appropriate vendor (the status items I mean, like relics and the likes), do guild writs and in particular do heritage quests. The latter are the hugest boost at once, however most do take some time to finish.

The level they're asking for is the level of your guild, which is fine. The status is the amount of status you've earned, and you don't have enough there. There are aparments that don't cost status, but they cost more gold.

For this one, you need to do writs or something :)

The requirements for a status purchase are always expressed in guild level & personal status.

But there should also be another option for purchasing a two room suite at the inn. There is always a cash only (as opposed to cash/status) version of the same room available but to make up for the lack of status cost, both purchase price and weekly rent (on the cash only) will be a little higher.

You may need to check a different door to find the rooms that are cash only but they are there!

Remember that if you buy a status cost home, there will be a cost in status points with each week's rent as well as in the purchase price.

Building status is fairly simple. Just go out and grind some city writs (or crafting writs). Completing these will add status to both you and your guild and as a bonus, if you haven't hit the level cap, you'll be getting XP as well.

Thanks for the tips guys. I just paid cash for it and blew off the status stuff. The irony is that it costs 24g to buy and 2p to refurbish. LOL
