Hi,

I am new to EQ2 and I am wondering what class is easiest to solo? There aren't many people in the low levels... so just thought it would be easier to catch up than look for others...

Thanks,
Tuxi

I hear pet classes are the easiest, but I haven't played one. My husband the Templar says "NOT A TEMPLAR!!" They've no DPS to speak of. I do okay on my Troubador, but definatley not top rank.

Fighters don't seem to have many problems, some might be a bit slower than others, but for instance my Monk and Shadowknight have no problems soloing. As long as you focus on what you can do, meaning solo quests. You won't be going into the instances on your own at the appropriate levels.

Don't focus too much on getting to 80 as fast as you can, it might lead to a burnout. There's plenty of things to enjoy when you level up. Just try to find a class you enjoy, level him up a bit and find a decent guild. Most guilds have plenty of players that have alts, they can help you out and group with you.

As you probably know...all classes can solo, but the easiest are high dps classes or the pet classes, of course with high dps comes weak defense so its kind of a double edged sword. Fighters can solo well if you build them right, of course my pally is built to tank and he solos pretty well so...haha

The bolded statement depends entirely which server you started on. On my server, the lowbie areas are a bustle of activity most times of the day and night. And, I am on a very low population server. But, it is also a PvP server and as such requires more teamwork than a PvE server.

Also, on AB I've noticed the few times that I've rolled a temp character there to attend an event or such, I've found DLW very busy.

So, it all depends on where you choose to start out. Solo is an option of course. But, in my opinion, grouping, interacting and making friends at the lower levels is the key to success later at the higher tiers. My suggestion would be to join an active guild and you'll find your opportunities to group much more frequent at the lower tiers. And, you won't feel pressured in to leveling up quickly and miss out on all the great content in the T1-5 tiers.
