Survey says it's the next EQ2 expansion name. Right on time, too.

I bet I'm a bigger slacker than you. My top adventure toon only hit L71 yesterday and hasn't been further than Kylong Plains yet!

(I have got a L80 master armourer though)

Any EQ1 buffs gonna hazard a guess at what the Shadow of Odyssey is?

No idea. The name doesn't ring any bells as being significant to EQ1. That's not to say it isn't, but if it is it's not obvious by the name.

My next expansion/AP wishlist item is Odus, for the record.

If it is indeed the name of the next expansion Odyssey could refer to anything. OF course luclin.

I have noticed sometimes a FULL MOON floating up there in the sky though.

I was hoping for the same thing, but then I wondered if Odus could even be made into a full expansion. Maybe an adventurepack. i miss Paineel and the Hole.

Doesnt ring a bell to me either. SOO just doesnt sound right though. makes me want to start a sentence.

Seriously, I've been on quite a bit, but seems like I keep missing you, too.

I'm on at least every wed/thu/sat/sun from 8pm ET-12am. That's the guilds raiding schedule. Tare said she might redownload EQ2 and get on again as well. I'm not holding my breath though Smiley: glare

Rumor in the swashy channel is that at lease some of the lore for the expansion will focus on Guk.

OK, here is my opinion, and nothing more, but it is informed by MANY things said and unsaid on the History and Lore forum. That said, here is my "guess".

The new expansion, The Shadow of Odyssey, will take us into the inter-dimensional spaces traveled by the Shadowed Men (who are actually the Shissar that escaped Luclin before it exploded).

It has been revealed, by Vhalen in his final gift to us, that "the Shissar knew their fate", well before Luclin blew and probably in time to move their temple again, from The Grey into The Void. Just one problem... having moved into The Void (aka Oblivion or Ethernere) they could not directly return to the material plane. Their only contact with other worlds has been through temporary portals (the swirl around the Shadowed Men when we see them) or more stable portals secured via the Towers. Still, they need mortal shells to allow them to stay for any length of time in our world.

Within the world we know, they have been searching for something they lost, something they believe will allow them to permanently avoid the doom foreseen in the Chelsith Stone... Ages End.

Others have been searching, too. Mayong for one, and his enemies, the League of Freethinkers!

How does Guk enter into all of this? I think that what the story we have read is relating is the original arrival of the Tower of Vul in the Feerrot!

Wow nice break down...seems like its highly possible to be just that haha would be cool if it is since the Void would be a completely new place (OoLS and OoB are just minor void stuff :P) so it'd stomp on people's expectations for all of the EQ1 continents to come back...haha we will just have to wait and see.

Bah, I'm really slacking. my main is only 70 (granted, close to 71, but still only 70), my second is only 69 adventure/70 tradeskill. all my others are 60 or below in tradeskill, crafting, or (with the vast majority) both. so don't talk to me about "slacking". I'm the epitome of the true "alt-oholic" I play one alt for a day or two, switch to another, play that for a day or two, switch to another...you get the idea.

I got sick of Kunark questing rather quickly. Too many different factions that really don't seem to do all that much for you. I mean I never once found a legendary item worth buying off any of the vendors on any of those factions. The treasured stuff that Kunark quests give seemed just as good. I mean you might gain a few stats in one area with those merchant bought ones, but you ended up losing them somewhere else.

I personally thought the game was alot more fun to play before Kunark. Kunark has so many solo quests for grinding those factions that people are not grouping as much. Before Kunark I was able to walk right into groups seemed like.

Meh maybe this expansion will bring grouping back together...you never know...i play on antonia bayle so i still see groups popping up due to population...but its still hard. Sure, i like quests but i dont like em to much that i want them to be the major form of xp and causing dungeons to only be good for loot :P

I never bothered much with buying equipment before I hit the Jarsath Wastes, I did get a couple of items there that were better (although not that spectacular) than what I was wearing. From the Darnak vendor and also one other. Ofcourse, the vendor in the Shipyard which requires items dropped in the Veeshan's Peak has items that made me drool, but then I doubt I'll ever enter that zone. Shame though, those items really are great.

Where, Stu? The :Category:Shadowed Man (EQ2 Mob Race)|Shadowed Men were not in EQ1 and Luclin went ka-blooie 50 years before EQ2 launched.

EQ1 had shadowed men -

http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?id=320

Granted, they don't look the same and maybe they don't have the same story, but they are there.
