Good morning, AllaK's - 2/18/08Follow

Good morning, happy campers.

Slow weekend. A /lot/ of getting kicked to character select screen for no good reason. I knocked out some more old quests from my journal. Went back to working on my epic.

Advanced my epic to the part where I need to go speak to Lhranc and then came to a screeching halt as I couldn't get a group together to plow through City of Mist. Tried getting to him on my own, but it wasn't to be.

Went out to Jarsath for some crafting when someone asked for help killing V`Deers. We killed him twice. Dropped some legendary cloth forearms. Fun.

Help a couple folk knock out a bunch of their JW quests. Afterwards they said they'd help me with City of Mist! So they grab some guildies, we all go out to Kunzar Jungle, start gathering and quest sharing right next to CoM and are about to go in....when my network goes out. :/ Figures.

How was your weekend?

I was out of town for a few days so not much playing time. Last night I finally got on, thinking tonights the night I'll get my last instance and finish my epic!!! Or I'll help people get theirs!!

Instead I spent 4 effing hours playing around my house as no one needed me and no one had time for an instance until "a little bit later". I finally logged off at 11 after reading half my collection books and redesigning my house. My husband asked if there was a guild run of the instance I needed could he take my char. I told him no, because I wanted to be the one to finish my epic. I worked really hard to do this on my own as much as I could. He went ahead and did it anyways and just told me. Stupid thing to be mad about, but I am really pissed off. As far as Im concerned he took away the feeling of accomplishment from me on my epic, and right now Im not inclined to be understanding about that.

Did some writs and I worked on my Knights in the round quest on Saturday. My hangover on Sunday still isn't done so you can imagine I was in no shape whatsoever to play on Sunday.

If he had done it as a surprise without asking, I'd be on his side as he was trying to do something nice even if it wasn't something you wanted. However having asked and you directly telling him "no", and doing it anyway...that would **** me off.

Congratulations anyhow. I'm still trying to get the first group part done. I have a long way to go.

that's just it. If he had not asked and done it I would have been a little bit more ok with it. But he specifically asked and I specifically told him no, and he went ahead and did it anyways. He told me this morning he "took a chance" and I countered back it was the wrong damn chance to take. I "get it" from a logical stand point why he did it, but the fact remains this game is not just about getting things done as fast as possible, but to garner a sense of achievement and he took that away from me on my epic. It's not something that can be replaced. I cant go back and do it again.

Has he finished his epic yet? If not you need to finish it when he isn't around. Or better yet, wait until he is one encounter away then delete it from his quest journal. Yes, I like that one. Do that.

thanks for making me actually chuckle for the first time today.

No I will not do his quest for him. And hes fortunate Im not callous enough to delete his quest.
he's hiding from me right now. he knows he messed up bad and is moping.

DSD, I feel your pain! It's not about pulling the thing out and slicing up mobs with it... but more about being able to see it come out and know "I did that... I made it happen". And in taking the last step for you, it is not entirely your accomplishment.

Just know that he meant well and that it's just the way guys are hard-wired. When we see a task that needs to be completed, our first impulse is to complete it. Then when told that completion is not what you need our second impulse is to follow our first impulse!

Stew for a while but let him out of the dog house eventually!

As far as my weekend, I continued my crawl from 75 to 76 in both adv lvl and crafting lvl. Oh, ok... crafting isn't really a crawl anymore... These days, you wait for vit, chug a potion and after completing 1st craft bonus on all the new recipes, you grind out the last 15 or 20% (I made backpacks which sell as fast as I put them up!) and BAM you're there!

Adventure wise, I started tooling around in Kunzar on Saturday and it's a blast! A little dicey for a solo 75 but fun.

Oh man, I wish. Weaponsmith. Low number of unique products and no non-rare combines sell for jack. Finishing all the first time bonuses for a level won't even get me half way and it's common grinding from there. I can do 3/4 of a level before I nod off at my keyboard. Levelling strictly on rush work orders helps a bit, but for the most part..just ugh.

Missed this first time reading the thread (small indication of the wildness saturday), still a huge gratz for the epic DSD!

I can definitely understand why you're mad at him though, but on the other hand, you did do the most work and now you have the weapon! (small comfort perhaps)

Oh, I'd be cheesed too. Yeah, it was nice of him to get it for you, but it's the doing, not the having.

In my house hubby's been recovering from a Valentine's Day wisdom teeth extraction, so I did almost nothing this weekend except run herd on kids and make soup, lol.
