My confusion abounds...Follow

...at something I see every time I peruse the broker. What I'm talking about is countless items being sold for the same price (or even less than) an NPC vendor would give the seller.

Obvious examples of this are common harvested items sold for a copper or two and common collectables sold for 7 or 8 copper. I mean, let's get serious here... even if you buy a stack of 200 <things> from me, how much difference can 400 copper make to my financial situation?

I understand that some people feel a desire to be altruistic about it and yeah, I'm glad that "critter paw" I need to complete my current L&L quest is there for cheap but personally, if I go to the broker and see 20 of the item I have in my bags on sale for 7 copper I DON'T PUT MINE UP FOR SALE!!! It's really that simple... A glut of <critter paw>'s... literally page after page of them to weed through doesn't help anyone! It just clutters up the broker.

And the practice isn't limited to this game... I've seen it in every MMO I've played so far... but I still don't get it!

Oh, well... it's just my 2 copper (or the profit from having just sold a stack of ore!)

Yeah, I've never understood this either. Whenever I run into this on collectables or spells/recipes I'll just buy them and resell them to an NPC vendor. I've never understood why it happens in the first place though.

I think it's people trying to play the lowest-price-so-I'm-listed-first game, who don't bother to check on the sellback. Tough, you know, since it requires checking another tab and clearing your selling price.

There are times tradeskilling when I just need 2 or 3 harvested items. Running upstairs to the broker and putting out 6-20 copper are a few silver is a lot easier for me than getting out of the instance, banking all my tradeskill boxes so i can move, zoning to harvest, back to bank and then back to instance.

The cheapo collectibles? Ya, I agree that pages of them are nuts!

celticfyre - I agree that convenience is wonderful and I'm not saying I wish no one would put cheap raw materials up on the broker. I'm saying I don't understand why the broker has page after page of the same item when they are almost free!

When I look on the broker and see that the stack I have to sell is almost worthless and there are thousands of them up already, I give them to the guild bank or save them for an alt.

The thing that confuses me is the sheer volume of stuff up there for a copper or two.

That's a hint. Don't make any of those to sell, lol. Market saturation vs demand. I always check the broker before I craft for the market.

Yea about all non-rare kunark collection items are like that. I myself have left some on there for less then a merchant pays simply because I am too lazy to remove it from broker and run to a merchant and sell it. I mean we are talking about a 9 copper item here.

I keep my leftover collections on the broker instead of the bank. Heaven forbid I ever throw anything away.... Several are priced at "well, if someone REALLY wants to pay that" for them prices, lol.
