Can't help you with the guardian thing, lol, but as for the forums, did you log in?

Yeah, the official boards have a wonky UI. It's not obvious that you aren't logged in sometimes, save the absence of the POST and REPLY buttons. Just go to the top and log in.

As for gear, at 21 you are at the right level to start the class-specific armor quests. I'm not entirely sure where the guardian quests start and it is town-dependent, so ask on your server and I'm sure someone will know (or google "EQ2 "armor quests" AQ 20"). Also, keep your harvesting up by harvesting every tradeskill node you come across. This will help by finding you both sellable rares, and components that a crafter can use to make you better weapons and armor.

Good luck and if you have any more specific questions, let us know.

As Stugein said...you are at the correct level for tracking down the armor quests. I would also point out that you are one level away from being able to wear the Master Crafted armor set for Tier 3.

I believe that the T3 MC armor that you'll want is Pristine Steel Vanguard. The MC armor should be slightly better than the quest armor but the quests are worth the time.

Depending upon the economy of your server, the rares for T3 might be expensive. If you choose to get the MC armor...harvest as much Steel as you can then find an Armorer who will cut you a deal.
