Hi all i am new to EQ2 and was wondering if maybe i could combine my playing with learning japanese(i'm old and progress is slow but i am getting there)
Are there any servers that have a large japanese population or are players segregated by region like World of Warcraft ?

Thanks in advance for any information :)

I can't remember the name of the server that was merged either. But, having spoken to a lot of "refugees" from that mergers, it seems they spread out across all the servers when free transfers were offered.

Since latency isn't really a problem these days, geographical location of the servers shouldn't effect your game play unless you have a really antiquated internet connection like Dial up or adsl..

If you're looking for a server that caters to one particular ethnicity you won't find it. MMO's are global these days and long gone are the times when people of their own culture could hang out together and hide from the rest of the world.

However! There are many cultural guilds on all the servers. One of the largest guilds on Venekor is German and there is another that is all Aussie. And then of course you have the guild I'm in which is dominated by Canadians! XD

Try the Japanese forums! Or PM Momochi, the Japanese Community Manager, on the Official Forums. You can tell her I sent you. She's a sweetie :)

Canadians are WAY too polite to come burn down your house just because you insult them or their country! But they might all come down just to say "Sorry!"

And for what it's worth, I am in a guild that is dominated by Canadians... well actually there are only three of them but since as the entire "senior officer" staff they constitute all of upper management, they could be considered a dominating force.

But make no mistake, in QRG (Qeynos Royal Guard) we love our "Canadian Triple Threat" and all us (less polite) Americans just might come burn down the house of anyone who dissed 'um, so maybe all that "Canada - America's hat" stuff is better left unsaid after all!!! :)

We aren't all so forgiving and polite...
But I am very sorry you think that way of us, and I'm also very sorry for trying to carry on the joke.
Please accept and forgive my apologizes.
