Achievment question of opinionFollow

Question for the long timers who maybe have several characters with bunches of AA.

Is it always better to put your first 50 points in your main (stats) tree? As an Inquisitor I can see any reason why i'd put any points into my Inquisitor tree, until after I was not allowed to put them in my Cleric tree any longer.

Is this different with other classes?

Am I missing something obvious as an Inquisitor?

I started long before there were AA points at all so when the first option came along I plugged away at that and didn't start the 2nd option till I'd done everything I wanted to in the first.

It only seemed logical to me that way... that I should finish the first task before moving on to the 2nd.

Completing 2 lines in your archtype tree should give you a very good foundation for your play style - and some nice definition to your character. The class tree is like icing on the cake, polishing only those skills you seem to use the most.

I see the class trees as being much more specific to the individual player than the archtype trees are... but, maybe thats just me!

I have put 70 points in my brawler tree before thinking of the monk tree. (apart from the heal boost)

I always felt that the improvements with the stat boosts and the new spells and abilities far outweighed the improvements on recast speed and a couple of new abilities I barely use.

Just pick whatever you want really though, if you see a couple of improvements in the inquisitor tree you like, go for them as fast as you want.

There are very few abilities on the class that are so critical to enhance that they would justify delaying your sinking of points into your archetype tree. Most of the archetype tree consists of stat boosts and abilities that affect most or all of your spells an abilities and enhance your effectiveness greatly across the board. You could make an argument for something like...enhance charm for a primarily solo'ing coercer, but that would be a rare exception.

It just depends IMO. I don't know anything about your class. I know as a necro though tainted heals and lifeburn are both very good abilitys to learn (under the necro tree). On my Bruiser I have found the basic brawler tree has been better thus far. Same would have to go with my newbie defiler.

So the short answer is. Cleric tree first, and then the Inquisitor tree for some icing later?
