Good Morning, AllaK's - 1/22/08Follow

Good morning, happy campers.

Lots of playtime this weekend as the wife caught herself a minor MySims addiction. *rubs hands together evilly*

Started out in Jarsath Wastes. Knocked out every last solo quest and finally scored my Worker's Sledgemallet. Oh the nostalgia. This also marked the conclusion of SOLO-QUESTAPALOOZA! Every single solo-marked quest in RoK has been beaten. Starting at 70 at release, this left me just shy of 80 (about 20% into 79). Not too shabby.

Solo questing done, it was time to check out some of these dungeons. First I did Charasis: Vault of Eternal Sleep. Fun stuff. The pit traps were quite frustrating, but once you noodled out their locations they were easy enough to avoid. Knocked out the Keepers of Dreams and Nightmares, as well as the Guardian (dropped the plate Sanctification helmet for me!). Got stuck on the final guy though (Steve the Phylactery Keeper was his name, I think). We had two rooters to handle the attendants during the fight, but our necro was using some soul siphon life thing AE that kept breaking the roots. After a few deaths we decided to call it.

Later on I get invited to tank Crypt of Agony. /Getting/ to the crypt was a bigger challenge than the crypt itself. Jus the worst luck. Everyone is invis, but forgets about the see invis frog pather who sees us in the middle of the mezzanine frog platform - wipe. Everyone is invis, walking up the path to the crypt when the pathing golem named who sees invis spawns - wipe. Everyone is standing right at the door at the top of the platform just waiting on one person to catch up, the big static golem named up there pops - wipe. It was uncanny. Anyway through much effort and patience we finally got everyone in there. Once inside it was pretty smooth sailing. No great loot drops. Wooden chests from every named. Worked our way to the last guy with very little effort. Then came the last guy. He demolished us. No way around it. The healer couldn't keep up. I couldn't lifetap fast enough. He'd hit me with a good 10 second stun during which I couldn't taunt or cast. 3 wipes later and we threw in the towel.

So 2 instances, 2 failures on the final guy in the zone. I needed to make myself feel better so I got involved in a Castle Mistmoore group to advance Soulfire. Knocked out a few nameds and got the book from the basement. Got 3 of the pages I needed before the group decided to split up. Afterwards I joined in on a Fire & Ice raid. Main tanked it and cleaned up. Drayek killed me with his dumb 'knock you back into the ice which is an instant death lol' attack. Aside from that it was all smooth sailing.

So good times all around. How was your long weekend?

Outside of Kid Drama, lol....

Did some more of the KP quests now that I can breathe in the zone without getting mauled. A guildie helped my (finally!) get my sokokar. I was one of those who were too old to do the crafter version of the quest (which IMO is more fun) and to young to survive the adventurer version. But now I have it... it's time to wander about and do the "discoverer sokokar posts by dying" thing again.

The same guildie offered to help me rip through some quests and I had a hard time explaining that I didn't want to rip through them. I'm enjoying my solo pace! Back in EQ1 it seemed I was perpetually behind the curve, and one of the things that made the game not-fun was that someone was always running me through content at a dead sprint. I don't think I actually saw any zone after Netherbain, 'cause I was always following someone who was running me through a quest real quick.

So I'm doing this at my own pace! I'm doing well, except those damn Broken Toe goblins, who are a PITA to pull safely.

PS: I might actually hit level 70....

our guild had a lot of players who needed quests done in COM last night, so we formed up 2 groups and playfully raced each other to see who could finish said quests first. It was a light hearted fun night, with each group in their own vent channel, bantering back and forth, playful KS's on mobs that respawned very quickly. Lots of AA xp for those of us who were 80 and great regular xp for those who have a couple more levels to go. Our group won btw Smiley: grin

I was lucky enough to also have had Friday off so it was a four day weekend for me!

Spent most of it in Norrath and a lot of that solo. Was in a great guild group on Saturday and we burned through Unrest in just under 3 hours (that place never gets old!)

Finally made it to Fens (at lvl 73 and with the help of a couple of friends, survived long enough to get the non-KOS quest done then went on to get a bunch of the solo content under my belt. (there is still plenty to go!)

In the week I've been back I've managed to get from 70 to well into 73 - almost 74.

Crafting has suffered with no work done on my lvl 67 provie and only a level added to my (now) 71 tailor. But I blame the scarcity of T8 resources for that. With my entry into Fens I am just now starting to see a steady supply of roots and pelts and by the time I get the provie to 70 I just might have enough groceries stashed to move him forward smoothly!

Overall, I am really enjoying the new content and am really glad I re-subscribed.

Decided to have a go at transmuting, so dragged my L20 defiler / L80 armourer over to BBM to speak to the master & get books. Rest of night spent harvesting everything in the Graveyard, making M/C stuff & breaking it. Over and over.

Transmuting now 11/400. Nearly there! lol

Ouch, I know that feeling but wait until you get to 400/400 :-) Just remember it can either cost you a ton of $$ or time killing MOBs looking for treasure.

Got it printed out & sat on my desk as I was doing it. Thanks for the link anyway - it's a very good guide by Kiara & worth other people checking it out.

Yep, I linked Niami's guide in my guide. It's important, I think, to have more than one way of explaining things!
